All, we have these things posted all over the board, and especially in the Computers thread. Since that thread talks about all things computer related, I'm not sure everyone looks in there. However, I think we all want to be aware of the latest things to look out for, and especially on items related to our guys.

I'll start this off by saying that in the last two days, there have been tweets that look like they could be a concert announcement for Henley at Casino Rama. It was two different Twitter handles, and both were blocked by my Malware detector. If you see these links in a search or alert, don't click on them unless you know you have good protection!

In addition, for both Don and Glenn, there are alerts coming through several times a day about finding information on their families or specifically Cindy and Sharon (their wives). I've not clicked on those links because they are obviously fake.

Be careful, folks.

I posted this last night in the computers thread, but I'll post it here, too. It's about a type of Ransomware, where your computer gets infected, and all your files get locked or encrypted with very high-tech cryptography. Once this happens, you pay the ransom to get it unlocked again, or you lose all your files. Local repair shops can get rid of the Ransomware, but they cannot unlock the encryption in your files. The man in the example in this article was looking at travel sites when he thinks it happened.

Austin (Walshfan88) put more information in the Computers thread.

Thanks for the warnings VA. I've heard of the ransom ware. Nasty, and who knows where it will stop.

From the Computer thread...

And it gets worse.

This very-new variant will delete your Master Boot Record when techs go to remove it, rendering your computer unbootable. Fixable, but definitely not easy and certainly not for home users.
