This must one of Joe's rarest tracks. I've never heard it before today.
The B-side to The Radio Song single How Ya Doin'?
I knew it'd be rubbish

Many Thanks to tubeyouall2 for putting it up on YouTube

Thanks for finding that, F50. I didn't know that song existed. Was it truly the B-side for The Radio Song? Anyway, I like the funky music, but it's lacking a little lyrically. It's too bad cause he could have turned this into something really hilarious.

Well, it's definitely different! That funky beat is cool. I agree with Dreamer that he could've done something more with the song. I've heard much worse :D. Lol

Ooh, I love it when stuff I haven't heard before surfaces! Thanks for this, Funk 50!

Thanks F50. That was probably the worst song I've heard, but loved it. Well sorta....Lol :hilarious:

It's pretty bad. The late 80's was a really bad time for music in general. I didn't go for that electronic type sound at all. My 2nd least favorite of all of Joe's songs.

Come on MV. You can't say that without telling us your least favourite Walsh track is!

I'm really glad that Terry Manning only lasted one LP as Joe's producer. I can't think of a worse Walsh track than How Ya Doin'
It may even be worse than Born To Boogie. :yuck:

Bill S. will always be my favorite Joe producer!! :yay:

I Like Big Tits. If there was one thing I could remove from Joe's career it would be that song. I found it absolutely pathetic that he continues to play this. How embarrassing for him. I don't care what the drunken a-hole fans want to hear. This is a pathetic excuse for a song. It's always made his male fans act like jerks at his shows. Seriously, I was appalled when he played this on his last tour.

Hopefully Joe has played I Like Big Tits for the last time. Until I heard it was a dig at his record company, I considered ILBTs an embarrassment. I can't see any such depth in How Ya Doin'?

I wish Joe would disown the drunken neanderthal element of his audience. I've heard that he's going to play some obscure album tracks during his tour later this year. I hope his audiences are now mature and sober enough to appreciate and respect a challenging set list.

Michael Stanley released an album, produced by Bill Szymcyck, a month or two ago, so Bill hasn't completely retired. I'd be selighted to see him producing Joe's next album. Don Was is producing Joe's, so far, unreleased blues project.

Whoa!! I didn't know that! The Eagles need to work w/Bill S. too. All of their best stuff was produced by Szymcyck. He hasn't totally retired. That's news to me!

I should've checked before I posted but Szymcyck didn't produce Michael Stanley's most recent album(s).

Unlike the Eagles, Michael Stanley's second act has been very prolific;

1996 Coming up for Air
1998 Live in Tangiers: The Acoustic Shows
2000 Eighteen Down
2003 The Ground Line
2005 American Road
2006 The Farrago Sessions
2007 The Soft Addictions
2008 Just Another Night
2009 Shadowland
2012 The Hang
2013 The Ride
2014 The Job
2015 And Then…

Most albums were produced by Michael Stanley and mixed by Bill Szymczck.

"to rekindle a working relationship with my dear friend and mentor Bill Szymczyk was just the perfect icing on the cake"

By all accounts, recording with the Eagles isn't a fun experience. I can't see Bill coming out of retirement to re-enter that pressure cooker. I'd still ask him though

Back on topic, I've been trying to think of where Joe's head was at when he was working on How Ya Doin'. I'm coming up blank. It doesn't work on any level as far as I'm concerned.

I believe the term is 3 sheets to the wind! Under the influence! Snorting too much of Stevie's coke, etc................ It's a b-side so it's obvious that he knew it wasn't going to be another Rocky Mountain Way or even Life of Illusion.

lol! I gotta agree with you, MV. However, I still kinda like the music and think the song had some potential to be a lot better if he had developed the lyrics. Maybe not another Life's Been Good, but some of Joe's creative, querky lyrics could have certainly provided some entertainment value! :headbang:

This is making me want to start a new thread speculating on what deep tracks Joe might play on the new tour - or at least what we hope he will. I guess it should go in "on the road" so off I go!
