He's retired now but played professionally with John Anderson and Eddie Rabbit. It's a hard instrument to master but I love the sound of a steel, along with the banjo.

I might be the odd one out, but I don't like Don's look during the Hell Freezes Over era. I think it was the whole side part thing. Silly me. I absolutely love 70's Don and the long hair!! That being said, he may just very well be the only 66 year old man that I think is incredibly hot. He is so stylish today and epitomizes the 'GQ' look just perfectly. Yum.

Well, it's common knowledge that chronically snorting cocaine will cause nasal problems. Stevie Knicks said she had to have reconstruction surgery, too. A hazard of being a star in the 70's? Probably. Remember, they thought it was safe at that time, just a bit of harmless fun.

I think that I can safely say that I've done more cocaine than all of the Eagles combined and you can throw Stevie in there too. I don't say that proudly, but, my point is that every person is different and everyone's body is going to react differently to abuse. Am I lucky that I've had no physical problems after so many years of it? Or did God (if you believe in him) have some purpose for keeping me around? I came out unscathed, except financially, because that's an inevitability when you are hard core.

That being said, my nose might fall clear off of my face tomorrow. If it does, I'll let you guys know! :-)

He looked good in Christchurch, which is the time when I saw him, because he had regrown his beard. In the HFO show itself, without the beard, his appearance did nothing for me. I always thought he looked better with a beard.

I absolutely love the first photo! It’s from the Hell Freezes Over era. Don looks great and has a great smile in it!
I guess Don is doing the “I Can’t Tell You Why” solo. He’s playing a Gibson B.B. King Lucille guitar. I think he played “I Can’t Tell You Why” on a Lucille in 1994. Timothy is standing beside Don: the headstock of his bass is visible on the left of the photo. Too bad that Timothy is not visible in it!

Don and his girlfriend Kathrin attended the Women Like Us Foundation's “A Night to Inspire” in Los Angeles on May 28. Women Like Us Foundation is a non-profit public charity dedicated to helping women who are creating change in the world. Don donated an autographed guitar for auction to help raise money.

Kathrin is Canadian and is a real estate agent. She was Miss Niagara in 1984. She’s 49 or 50, but she doesn’t look it! Don and Kathrin have a son together named Riley. Here’s a photo of the three of them:

Someone on these forums a while ago said that Kathrin had a Ph.D. in Music. I wonder if that's accurate.

As far as I know, she doesn't have a Ph.D. in Music. After attending the University of Toronto, she studied acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles on a scholarship given to her by Katharine Hepburn.

I agree, Love those shoes but they would be way too big for my feet.! He does look great for his age, but I do think he's having some either face peels or something on his skin, to keep it looking that good.

Don looks amazing at 60 in that interview. He & Kathrin both look good for their age I didn't think she was that old, but they must have a great dermatologist, because both of them are looking very young!

Agree, NMB, that Don F.'s boots are way too cool! However, it's his fleur de lis belt buckle that caught my eye.

He and his leading lady, Kathrin, make such a lovely couple. Who said that beauty is only wasted on the youth? I respectfully disagree!

Thanks for posting those photos, WT. They are from a gig Don did with Kings of Chaos in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on January 16. Kings of Chaos is a supergroup with rotating members. The core lineup includes Matt Sorum, Duff McKagan, and Gilby Clarke of Guns N’ Roses. Robin Zander of Cheap Trick is also part of the current lineup. Here’s Kings of Chaos’ Wikipedia page:
