I'm going to try everything within my power to get to the Atlanta show.

I hope you get to go, AG. I would do Atlanta, but I'm on my way back from Illinois on the July 1st. So that's out. I want to go to New Orleans, but that's a weekday and I won't have enough time to just take off a few hours. I'm saving up to go to my church's youth camp at the end of June. So I can't use that time. Not even for 2 or 3 hours before the show. I once drove 3 hours to a show and I was almost late because I had to find a park. So that's why I want to at least have an hour or two of free time. I could do Nashville since I will be off that Monday for Independence Day. Hmm. I might be able to see him. I have to see.

I'm happy for Joe and its soo nice to see some south dates because Joe always have tour dates up north. I will get to see later down the road. I know this probably won't be the last time Joe will tour with another artist. If he does that, I know they will have south dates.

Aw, I guess I understand why some might feel that it's too soon. This tour starts in May, and although I have no plans to see a show, I am glad to see Joe (and Don, too) continue with their careers. I was very shocked and crushed at Glenn's passing, but I do understand that life goes on - for everybody, eventually.

It's different with me. I'm glad to see my favorite band back out on tour, to know that they're still active. The fact that Joe is co-headlining is added bonus. The first show is scheduled for nearly 4 months after Glenn's passing. I do understand why some think that it is too soon, though.

If Joe or Don were playing close to me right now, I don't think my heart would be into seeing them. However, I don't know how I'll feel a few month from now. However, I don't have that problem because none of Joe's dates are anywhere close to me. I don't begrudge Don or Joe for scheduling tour dates though - they are entertainers and entertainers gotta entertain.

I can understand how everybody feels. For me. I missed that chance to see the guys as a group in concert. I will always kicked myself for not putting the effort to see the guys. Money was the problem and I hate I missed seeing them when they were close to me. I know for this year, on my bucket list I wanted to see Don's solo show and whenever Glenn got better, see the guys. I just don't want to miss that chance with Don or Joe. No matter what. My heart hurts that I didn't see them and I will miss Glenn too.

I think maybe its good I can't see Joe at the shows that are close to me. I probably wouldn't be ready, but maybe when Don starts touring later, I will be alright. I still want to hear Joe's song that he wrote about Glenn. Now that will make me break down.

Losing somebody close, isn't a new experience for Joe. He lost his dad as an infant, all his friends, when he moved to New York as a 12 year old, his 3 year old daughter died when he was in his early twenties, not to mention, "all the friends I used to run with are gone".

As a UK Walsh fan I'm hoping the One Hell Of A Night Tour is successful enough to be extended to Europe. Bad Company being British may help that, although some, solo Walsh, UK festival dates would, imo, be even better.

I'm unhappy that Joe is sharing the billing, presumably playing a 75-90 minute set list.

The live concert experience has changed so much since the seventies. The availability of major venues has increased dramatically. Imho, Joe's got the catalog and personality to fill them but he needs to play at least 2 hours to sell the tickets, otherwise, it's going to take Joe so long to get round the USA, that he'll be done touring before he even considers a adding European leg.

My feeling is that if they are ready to play, I should be ready to hear. After all, Glenn continued to tour when his mother died.

I'm not such a big Walsh fan that I'd like to see him on a single bill whereas combined with Bad Company (and Steve Rodgers), it's something I'd like to see if it ever comes to the UK.

shunlvswx

I think it just depends on an artist. Like UTW said, Glenn continued to tour after his mother died. She was probably buried while the guys had a couple days off. Celine went back to work a month after Rene died. Marie Osmond went back to doing her show with her brother after her son died. I just depends.

Life goes on for artists. You have to continue to provide for your family. Don has two teenagers still at home(he always says 3, but Annabel is 20 now), he has to provide for those two who are still home. Joe's two sons are up in age and they probably don't live with Joe.

Even though Don and Joe probably can retired right now, but they're not going to make the mega bucks they made when they were touring as a group since they toured for what 5 to 6 months out of the year. I don't think they will do that with their solo careers.

You never know when its time to start again. We don't know if Joe had already planned to tour with Bad Company before Glenn died. They probably had already planned this. So we don't know. We don't know if the guys were going to tour this year even if Glenn didn't get sick. Both Don and Joe said they were going to tour again this year last year. So we just don't know.

I want to see Joe and Don. And I also wanted to see the Eagles this year when they started back and now that's never going to happen. :-( I just don't want to miss the opportunity with them. I have a better chance of seeing Don's solo show than Joe's. I just hate I can't see Joe in New Orleans.

I'm saying this up front. I'm not going against anybody who don't want to see the other guys in concert right now or think its too soon. I just want to put that out because I know I always get fussed at with my opinions sometimes and that sometimes makes me not want to post.

I wonder who will be playing bass for Bad Company since original bassist Boz Burrell died in 2006. They've had 2 different guys since. Howard Leese(from the band Heart) has been playing guitar with them since 2008. Of course, the other 3 original members are still playing (Paul Rodgers, Mick Ralphs, and Simon Kirke).

I was kind of surprised that Joe is already getting out, but I can kind of understand it too. And I'm sure Glenn wouldn't want them to be sitting around doing nothing.

I think it would be great to see Joe and Paul Rodgers with Bad Co., but don't know if I will make it to St. Louis or not. We'll see how the summer comes along! Love Joe and love BC!

Yep - As I said earlier, I have no problem with the guys scheduling these tour dates - they are entertainers, it's their job ... it's what they do. I also think Glenn would want them to carry on. I personally doubt that they are doing this for financial reasons - I believe they do it because it's what they love doing.

But, for me personally, I'm just not feeling it right now. I don't know how long this will last, but I just don't want to hear or see anyone in concert right now. I've hardly listened to any music since Glenn's passing - it feels like for me that 1/18/2016 is the day the music died. As I said, I'm hoping that this feeling will pass in due time.

Man I wish some of these guys would schedule arena shows during the summer and not these stadiums or outdoor stages! I just can't handle the heat with my panhypopituitarism. I need AC!

This would have been one I would have went to in a heartbeat had there been an indoor show closeby.

Maybe they'll add more IL dates, and hopefully indoors!

As far as him touring right now - I think he's gotta do what he's gotta do and that's entertain and perform. I highly doubt Glenn would want him or DH sitting around moping, he'd want them back out on the road doing it again. However, it'll be very emotional for me the next time I see a JW or DH show - I have no doubts about that as I've only seen Eagles shows and not having Glenn there will be very sad.

I do understand this. I also agree with Dreamer that this isn't being done for financial reasons as Joe & Don are multi-millionaires. I also understand that Glenn wouldn't want them to sit around.

The bottom line is being where I am, I don't expect to see any of the three of them ever again.

I love Waddy too!

As much as I adore Glenn and as distraught as I have been about his passing, I am glad the other guys are continuing to perform. As others have already said, Glenn wouldn't want everyone to shut down because he'd died.

Am I personally ready to see Joe, Don, Tim, etc? I think yes. I can't explain why when it's so difficult for me to move on in other areas. Maybe it's because I don't want everything to be over and this is proof that everything won't be, even if Glenn and the Eagles are. I don't know.

I will see Joe, even get the VIP meet'n'greet, if the prices are reasonable.

I'm not keen on the double-bill but I'll take what I can get. Joe hasn't done two-hour-plus solo shows for years, not even when he's the only act on the bill, so that's not the problem. I'm just not a big fan of Bad Company - I don't hate them or anything, but the ticket will be more expensive due to their presence, and I could do without them.

From what it looks like almost all of the venues are outdoors. The Blossom Music Center in Ohio is and holds about 18,000 to 19,000. In the summer months almost all the concerts are outdoors unless it's someone that's going to have a huge crowd that one of the arenas have to have it.

Out of those venues (in addition to Blossom), I've been to Red Rocks, DTE Energy Music Theater, Chastain and the Cynthia Woods Pavilion. They're all outdoor venues. The Forum is indoors, but I think it's probably the exception because Azoff is an owner of it.

I have mixed emotions regarding seeing Joe. I agree with a Soda that I can do without Bad Company. The amphitheater in Maryland Heights, Mo. seats 7,000. There are lawn seats as well as reserved. It is like an oven in the better front seats. There are no fans. If there is a meet and greet maybe......

Thanks for the info. The "One Hell Of A Night" venues are a lot bigger that I thought they were. Hopefully that means the tickets wont be too pricey.

I know Joe's a lot better known in his home country that he is beyond it's (or is it her ) borders but Bad Company must be also be bigger in the U.S.A. than the U.K., to fill those venues.

These are the size of venue I was hoping Joe would aspire to. Good on him and Bad Co. Despite getting off to the most horrendous start, 2016 could another Walsh year.

I'm not keen on Joe having a second guitarist but if he is going to have one, Waddy's a great choice.
Joe's changed his band quite a bit since his winter shows. Maybe he was disapointed that they couldn't pull off the obscurities that he wanted to play, to his satisfaction.

I think Joe's back catalog is a lot more diverse than Bad Company's but, with the venues that they are playing and the inclusion of Waddy and Chas "Boom Boom" Cromwell on drums, it looks like Joe's planning to skip the pretty stuff and just rock out, going punch for punch with Bad Company.. Good look to Mick Ralph's replacement Rich Robinson and to Walsh new-boy, Jimmy Wallace too.

I used to dread the day when Joe would have several backing singers on stage with him. They haven't turned out so bad :). Never, ever contemplated him having a "Sampler" in his band. Apparently, Clayton Janes was previously a part of the Eagles live crew.

Drums - Joe Vitale
Drums - Chad Cromwell
Guitar - Waddy Wachtel
Bass - Larry Young
Keyboards - Jimmy Wallace
Backing Vocals - Leslie Fuller, Connie Jackson, Windy Wagner and Rickey Washington
Samples - Clayton Janes

I expect the set list to be pretty tried and trusted. eg;

Walk Away
Meadows
In The City
Analog Man
Look At Us Now
Turn To Stone
The Bomber
Funk #49
Rocky Mountain Way
Life In The Fast Lane
Life's Been Good
All Night Long

He may perform Good Man Down which he wrote with Waddy. Wrecking Ball and/or And The band Played On from his last album would be welcome additions. He usually lets his backing singers sing a cover song and there is an unlikely chance that he may have something new to play. It'll be interesting to see if Joe will include a song in honour of Glenn. Smugglers Blues seems the obvious choice, off the top of my head.

I'm still hoping for some Vitale flute. :bye:

I'm sincerely hoping he skips the pretty stuff. This will be an experience for me...
My23 yr old son has been laid up since Sept 5, he usually attends Jazz Fest and Voodoo Fest with friends , but due to ankle surgeries and recovery being slow cannot do all that walking. He's very broke and very bummed and tired of hanging around the house with mommy I'm sure . I was trying to find a concert to attend with him that we both would enjoy and this came up...he would not be digging on the pretty stuff. He digs Joe Walsh and likes Bad Co. As well. Its been a rough time, but we have kind of gotten reacquainted through all this...I'm really stoked !
Should be an experience for us both !

I've been waiting about 40 years for Joe to do a solo tour of the U.K.

This year's One Hell Of A Night co-headlining tour with Brits, Bad Company, had the promise of a late Summer / Autumn, U.K. leg but I read some very disappointing news this morning; http://www.vintagevinylnews.com/2016/05/bad-company-to-do-swan-song-tour-of.html

Bad Company have announced a U.K. Tour for later this year as Joe revisits his U.S. venues once again
I was really hoping for a chance to see Joe perform those tracks I've listened to my whole life before he gets too far past his peak.

Well, if he won't come to you, perhaps you could go to him... Build a longer holiday around it.

I got to see the Eagles because I checked the North American tour schedule and saw they would be playing Toronto about a week after I'd planned to visit someone in Ontario and I was able to adjust my plans so I did both. Of course, as soon as I got back from that trip, they anounced the UK tour.

Billboard reports that Joe dedicated the whole Detroit show to Glenn saying Glenn was his brother and band mate. I really wasn't sure why he chose that particular song. I really consider that Randy's song and no one can do it like he did.

I think it is very sweet and touching, however, that he selected what he thought would have meaning for him and would be a tribute to Glenn. It's nice that he dedicated the entire show to Glenn in Detroit. That was probably a tough show for Joe.
