Hey guys,

Ready to do another one of these? I figure it's time for a 70s one - Houston 1976. How about Friday, Sept 29 for us on this side of the dateline, and Saturday the 30th for the other side?

Well it doesn't look like I'll be making this one. I have to go back into the hospital that morning for another proceedure on my heart. While I am assuming I will be released that same day, I doubt I'll feel much like sitting at a computer. Have fun and drink a toast to the boys for me!

Thanks guys! I had a nuclear stress test last thurs which showed an area lacking blood next to the stent. Assumably there is an excess amount of scar tissue growing there which has to be delt with before it closes off the artery again. Unfortunately that means another angio...which was very painful the first time around. OK...done whining. lol The good news is that angel is still on my shoulder and this was found early. Normally when this happens they don't know until 4-6 months after the stent placement when the patient starts having pain or has another attack. Also, the left chamber of my heart which was functioning at 30% when I had the attack is now back to normal. Yay!

Lissa - please don't apologize. I don't hardly think it constitutes whining when you find out you have to undergo another angio. Let us know when that is scheduled, and we will keep you in our thoughts. Like you said, at least there is a silver lining in all of this, and the sooner you get this all behind you, the better. Hopefully, you'll be good as new and ready for some 'excellent adventures' next year. Stay strong and keep looking for that silver lining!

You're hardly whining, Lissa! I think it's great how you are able to keep in mind the positive even when something like this happens to put you back a bit. But as Kay says, better it happen now so you can get your strength up for 2007!

Lissa, it's absolutely okay to whine a little. After all you've been through, you've hardly scratched the surface! Just remember that someone is watching over you, helping the doctors find the problem soon enough to deal with it

Now if you really want to know about whining, just give me a few minutes to rev up to high gear.....

Hey guys - just finished talking to Lissa and she wanted to let everyone know she was OK, although there were some complications. I won't go into all the details (although if you want to know more you can PM me) but the good news is that it turns out she doesn't have heart disease after all, but a rare condition that causes the vessels to spasm severely and cause a heart attack. The bad news is that before they figured this out, they had placed several stents in her due to complications during the angioplasties. But anyway, she wanted me to tell you that she's fine now and resting at home.

Oh, man, my son has come home from college for the weekend for bow hunting! Much as I love seeing him (his college is about a 5 hour drive away and he doesn't come home a lot what with the price of gas) he couldn't have picked a worse weekend for me! Hopefully, he and his Dad will be hunting till around 8.

Hopefully, I'll get to pop in and out a few times for the party!

Wow, poor Lissa, but glad she's home now, and good to know that the left ventricle is working properly. My very best wishes to you, Lissa.

Hope you can catch a bit of the chat, Brooke. My son is back this weekend, too. He's only been away for two weeks, but has run out of clothes!!

Kate - we need to get a network technician to your house to get you into chat for these parties. Either that - or you'll have to come visit one of us on chat party weekends.

And I'm no medical expert, but that does indeed sound like mixed news for Lissa. Hope you are doing okay, Lissa.

I'm sorry I missed the video chat tonight, guys. We have two teenage daughters that go to different high schools (our neighborhood got annexed so my younger one had to go to a different school) and the two football teams played each other tonight. This is the one football game we can't miss all season. We had to sit with one school for the first half and the other side for the second.

Thanks guys for all the well wishes. Things should be much better now that i have been properly diagnosed and am on the correct medication. Once again that angel on my shoulder has come thru. I have an HMO and you just get assigned a surgeon...I happened to get the top guy and he just happened to be well read enough to have heard of this rare condition (called tako-tsubo syndrome) and I just happened to have cds of my first procedure that he was able to review in order to figure out what was really going on. With out the medication change he made, I would have continured to have problems. It's no wonder NMCD is one of my fav songs..."I believe in angels too"! Thanks again for all the happy thoughts and for all the lovely pics y'all posted too!
