Don Henley at Wolf Trap 9-7-16

Don didn't sway from his "regular" song list, although he did play "all she wants to do is dance", which I guess wasn't performed at every show. He was very animated--obviously in a great mood. Instead of the usual two encores, he combined them into one. He actually spoke a bit about losing Glenn, and that he and the rest of the band have gotten everyone's condolences, and that they are all very touched and appreciative. Then he said "this one's for Glenn" and played "Desperado". Gotta admit I choked back a few tears over that one. Totally worth the eight hour drive, just wish I could've stayed for the second show tonight.
It was funny, though...it started to lightning and thunder at one point. Don looks at the sky and says "whoa...percussion!" Like I said, he seemed to be in a great mood. The way he was jumping around, you'd never guess his age. His band was awesome as always. I absolutely love his backup girls. They each bring their own style to the duets.

8 hour drive? Wowza, ambulance girl! Thanks for sharing your report of Don's concert! That's cool that there was thunder and lightning, but I would have been scared.

haha, looks like you were sitting up near me :) i shot a few short clips of certain songs. hard to do with the ushers aka camera nazis so close!! mine are just in my camera in case i need a pick-me-up during the day!! but thanks for the memories!!! just wish Don would either leave the videos up, or release a live concert video from this tour!! Because he was DAMN AMAZING!!!

And the 8 hour drive was well worth it. I was dragging ass all day at work the next day (14 straight hours in the ambulance, dispatch obviously hates me lol) but I wouldn't trade a minute of it for anything!!!:inlove:

http://www.clipconverter.cc/ Use this website to take YouTube URLs and download them into .mp4s for personal use. It should work w/ all videos, even those that are region blocked. Once a video is completely blocked or removed, then it won't work. If it doesn't work, then PM me. Also, just to be on the safe side, use an adblocker w/ your browser, just in case there are annoying pop-ups.

I've been doing this to all Don live and TV performances just in case they get removed, which is a strong likelihood.

Thanks so much, ag for the review and videos and I'm so glad you were able to make it to the show. I have no doubt that it was worth the trip. I was planning to go to the Thursday night show with a friend, but, unfortunately, have been fighting a bout of bronchitis that got progressively worse as the week went by. I finally had to break down and go to the doctor, but was really bombed about not making the show. Now, I'm probably going to miss out on this tour altogether, which is very upsetting.

Anyway, enough about poor, poor pitiful me - I knew Don would not disappoint and know you are glad you made the trip even if it takes you a few days to recover.
