According to South China Morning Post (http://www.scmp.com/culture/music/article/2027655/ex-eagles-guitarist-don-felder-cant-wait-play-hong-kongs-beautiful):

"[Felder] plans to release a new EP by the end of this year. 'I try to write five or six songs each year and not just in one genre,' he says. 'The new material includes a Latin-flavoured song, some electric rock songs and a ballad.'"

Let's hope all goes according to plan and we get some new music soon!

Five or six songs a year doesn't sound a huge number. Still, why should he work harder than he needs to.

Even if he has written only five or six songs a year since his last album, he should have stuff for more than an EP. Having said that, it's nice that he has something coming out.

All it takes is a few more songs to make up a full album... but EPs are a lot cheaper to distribute (presumably this will only be released as an MP3 download, like Fleetwood Mac's EP).

Well, lets see, road to Forever was out in 2012, wasn't it? Five or six songs a year gives him 20-24 to pick from.

He has picked up to pace of his shows in the last year or two. Seems he stays pretty busy with shows and benefits.

I'm eager to hear some new tunes.

Timothy just launched his a few weeks ago.

For some reason, I thought his statement meant he planned to release only material he had written this year. Upon re-reading, I see I have no reason to think that and he would indeed have plenty of songs to choose from. Either he doesn't feel he has enough viable songs to make up an entire album, or he simply wants to cut costs by only doing an EP. It could be a little of both.

I add that Don still has a young son and is now a Grampa. I'm sure family demands take up his time, too. Timothy said in an interview that was posted here earlier today that he worked on "Leap of Faith" over a period of 7 years.

I also look forward to some new music.

Saw a post today of Sammy Hagar and a producer and Don. It said Sammy was recording for Don's CD.. or however he's releasing it. Supposedly it's gonna. E a mix of style and collaboration. I messaged Don last month and he responded and said he'd like to get it finished before the summer tour with Styx and REO starts.

Thanks for the update, Eagles7. It sounds interesting. I guess after Sammy interviewed Don for his Road Trip show, they decided to work on some music together.
