The Beacon Theatre was beautiful. The community has every right to be proud, and it was a lovely showcase for Timothy's extremely talented ensemble! :-)

Timothy and the band really were fabulous. He was so charming, interacting with the crowd and the band members throughout the evening. His sense of humor was on display and the audience seemed to very much appreciate the intimacy of his approach.

He was in very good voice, with at least one audience member opining, "He sounds just like he did 30 years ago!"

Plus, he's just so darn cute.

Here's the set list:
One More Mile
My Hat
The Shadow
Red Dirt Road
Ella Jean
White Boy From Sacramento
(Here, he introduced each band member and back-up singer with a little story about and complimentary description of each one.)
Downtime
Parachute

++Intermission++

Timothy returned alone and performed beautiful acoustic versions of:
All Those Faces
You're So Wild (He appeared to forget the words and asked the audience for help. Then he did that cute little "gee whiz" sort of smile and said something like, "That was a bad place to have to stop.")
He talked about his sadness at the loss of Richmond, VA musician (and Timothy's long-time friend) Robbin Thompson, whose widow and two daughters were in attendance.
Then he affectionately spoke of Glenn and sang Peaceful Easy Feeling, for which he received the first of several standing ovations.
All I Wanna Do
I Can See Everything
What I Should Do

Keep On Tryin' (This was sooo good.)
Friday Night
I Refuse
Secular Praise
I Can't Tell You Why
A Good Day (Timothy said that he definitely wanted to end the evening on a high note.)

As they left the stage they received an enthusiastic standing ovation.

Encore: I Don't Want To Hear Anymore
Love Will Keep Us Alive (This turned into a real sing-along.)

Timothy sent everyone off into the night with his best wishes.

This was a terrific evening with Timothy. With great warmth and obvious pleasure in being there, Timothy turned a stormy, windy day into an enchanting moonlit evening.

Interesting that he had an intermission. I had heard he was doing that earlier in the tour but he didn't have one at any of the 4 shows I went to.

Same here. I attended 2 shows in California and both nights in Chicago and there was no intermission.

He mentioned that the venue had requested an intermission. He said he doesn't usually do that.

 Bar sales. Just a guess.

No surprise there, right?!
I'm so curious about what made him decide to do You're So Wild alone as opposed to with the band. I wonder if it's because it feels like a very personal and intimate song to him.
Wasn't I Refuse great live?

Hi, Gemini! :-)
I know, right?
Re: YSW- I think there's a fair chance that you're correct.
Re: I Refuse- It was sooo rockin!!! Boy, that Hank!! He was tearing it up!!! That one really brought the house down!
I hope the NY audience at BB King's gives back to him the kind of love that the Virginia audience was sending out to him.
❤ Bless him.

Soda, are you still able to make one of his shows? Weren't you going to Connecticut?

Yes, I'm going to see him in Connecticut. As you know, I was going to see him in Nashville a few months ago, but I got pneumonia and spent that evening in the hospital! I was determined not to miss out so when I saw he wasn't going to come back to the South, I decided to go to him. Dreamer and I will be going to the Connecticut show together and we're making a little holiday weekend of it.

These reviews have made me even more excited about it!
