I made a thread for last night's show. I saw an hour of the show on Periscope. So I missed half the songs. The guys sounded great. The place looked packed.

I'm looking forward to the recap of the show. One more show in Atlanta.

Here's the setlist. In the City and Walk Away switched places. So it looks like they will have a Joe song early in the show than having all his songs toward the end.

Thanks Shun. I realized too late that I should have made a separate thread for the Greensboro show but someone had already posted to the pre-anticipation thread about the concert so I just went along.

Edit: I just posted a video on the Evening with the Eagles Mini-tour thread. It’ll be interesting to see if the guys keep everything the same e.g. it seems Don wasn’t singing along much on TITTL and there was no shout-out to Randy.

Here's a few videos.

Life in the Fast Lane. No jumping from Don this show, but that was cute in Greensboro. He got Joe jumping. Lol

I think that was me posting about Greensboro in the anticipation thread - trying to post quickly from work! Sorry about that - perhaps an admin can correct.

Anyway, here are some photos and a review of last night from the local paper.

Those were amazing videos. Best quality I’ve seen so far. I was interested to hear what don had to say about best of my love with the tuning because I haven’t found any website that gives the music for that song have it in that tuning but don and Glenn talk about it. Interesting

BJB, it was my fault, I’ve been here more than a year now and I should have known better.

Thank you for these links. I found this interesting from the first review:

But Henley is not big on heavy-handed sentimentality. There was no official tribute to Frey. He did introduce Deacon with a brief story about how Glenn would play music with Deacon in small clubs before 150 or so. “His first gig with us?” Henley said. “Dodger Stadium. 55,000 people. Hats off to you son.”

Also this about Vince:

Gill handled most of the songs in which Frey or Randy Meisner sang lead in the originals and the crowd embraced him wholeheartedly. He generated the concert’s first standing ovation 15 minutes in with a rousing “Take It To The Limit.” Paradoxically, Gill is unassuming for a rock star and like Deacon, he let the star members of the band – Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit – do most of the talking.

The pictures are nice. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Joe wear that yellow police tape guitar strap before!

ETA: I agree about the quality of the videos. I wonder if the person who took them used a digital camera instead of a cell phone.

Something I noticed in the intro to Take It Easy. This should put to bed any guesswork about how the band views the new guys. Joe Introduced Deacon Frey as "a new member of the band"...not guest, not anything other than a new member. So I guess Vince and Deacon are officially part of the Eagles.

Wow - I do not know what to say to that. I was under the impression it was "Eagles and Friends". :depressed::cry::sigh::stunned::(

But it's never been billed as 'and friends'. It has been billed recently as 'Eagles with Deacon Frey & Vince Gill'.

Of course this was going to happen. I would prefer not to comment further.

I don't think that necessarily means they're officially Eagles. I've heard them refer to Steuart and other members of the backup band as part of the band, too.

Could be just Joe being encouraging to Deacon. I don't think Deacon and/or Vince are actual members of the band. Members of the current live lineup, sure.

I've many times heard 'touring members' (who aren't officially/legally members of the band) introduced as 'members of the band', so I wouldn't read too much into it.

However, if Eagles were to make Deacon (and Vince) official members of the band, then I think this would be a very reasonable thing to do.

Though, over on Eagles.com there are no more Eagles shows listed as upcoming. Is there anything announced? I must admit that I've not kept up with all the announcements. Lots of Tim and Joe solo, and a Don solo coming up. No Eagles that I could see there.

(googles a bit)

Playing in Mexico today? That wasn't on the website as of yesterday, so the Eagles.com website isn't complete.

They are done for the year. Vince, Joe and Timothy have shows for the rest of the year. Only that show for the Hurricane Harvey people is all Don has, but he's basically done for the year. The Mexico thing was canceled. I don't know if its the whole thing or just Don.

They probably will announce more dates sometime in early 2018 if they are doing a mini tour for winter or spring time.
