Home from Louisville at 1:30 in the morning after finally having the opportunity to see the Eagles for the first time! Totally worth it, and they just keep proving why they're the greatest rock band to ever come from America. The setlist was as follows:

1. Seven Bridges Road
2. Take It Easy (Deacon Frye)
3. One of These Nights
4. Take it to the Limit (Vince Gill)
5. Tequila Sunrise (Vince Gill)
6. Witchy Woman
7. In The City
8. I Can't Tell You Why
9. Peaceful, Easy Feeling (Deacon Frye)
10. Best of My Love
11. Lyin' Eyes (Vince Gill)
12. Love Will Keep Us Alive
13. New Kid in Town (Vince Gill)
14. Those Shoes
15. Already Gone (Deacon Frye)
16. Walk Away
17. Heartache Tonight (Vince Gill)
18. Life's Been Good
19. Funk #49
20. Life in the Fastlane

Encore #1
21. Hotel California

Encore #2
22. Rocky Mountain Way
23. Desperado

I absolutely LOVED horns being used in Witchy Woman!! It really adds to a song that never struck me as missing anything. Horns were used for Funk #49 as well, and it just works. It crazy since it's such a guitar-heavy song, but the horn section is a great addition to a classic song.

I knew going in that they were closing with Desperado, which I'm not a fan of. I enjoy a concert ending on a high note, with a high energy song. Desperado works though. Henley is front and center while backed by the rest of the band and a string section. The entire place was singing along and it really just worked. I was pleasantly surprised.

Deacon Frye and Vince Gill were a great combination, swapping off on lead vocals. Gill is a star in his own right, and yet he seemed humbled to be playing with those guys.

I do wish they played "The Long Run", but with such a catalog of hits, I understand they can't hit them all.

Getting into and leaving the KFC Yum Center was an absolute nightmare. All sorts of construction in downtown Louisville, and that may be why the show started 15 minutes late. At 8:00, there were a ton of empty seats that managed to be full by 8:15-8:20.

Again, what a great show and I'm thankful I finally had the opportunity to see them perform. I saw in the very top row of the arena and I'm quite exhausted from being at work at 7am and going down and back from Indy, but boy, oh boy, it was totally worth it!

Just want to say tonight's show was GREAT! The actual time was shorter do to no intermission. Somehow, I got my camera in and was able to use it for a few songs.

I got back to my home in Indiana at 3:am; will get to my revue in a day or so.

I also went to the show last night. I went with my son who flew in from Houston. I haven't been to an Eagles concert since 1980, so didn't know what to expect.

Just some random thoughts on the concert as we got in at 2:00 also...

Of course I missed seeing Glenn and that was sad. My son also mentioned never getting the chance to see him. I enjoyed the songs that Vince and Deacon performed though, and it seemed the rest of the crowd did too.

I really enjoyed the version of Witchy Woman with the horns and the heavy drum beat. WW has never been one of my favorite songs, but this was one of the best songs of the evening to me!

In the 70's I wasn't a fan of the Joe songs, but last night I truly enjoyed them all. Joe doesn't sound to much different than he did back then because of his "singing voice".

Don gave a shout out to Randy again before "Take it to the Limit" and to Bob Seger before "Heartache Tonight" who was recovering from back surgery. Of course Glenn was mentioned several times and his picture was shown.

The sound was wonderful along with the lighting and backdrops. Very clean with no echo. So different from the 70's when your ears would ring for a while after the concert!

I enjoyed every moment of good music and memories with my son. I am so glad I went.

Who were the backup musicians last night in Louisville? A concert all fans should see.

Sorry, I'm afraid I'm not very familiar with their backing musicians. Steuart Smith was on guitar, but don't know who the additional drummer was. I was very surprised how much Don was behind the drums though. I have no idea about the horns or strings though.

The guys that's been with the Eagles since 2001 (1994 for Scott): Will Hollis, Michael Thompson, Scott Crago, Steuart Steuart, Don's solo band horn section, Milo Deering and Erica Swindell are also from Don's solo band who played the violin(or is it the fiddle). I think they have 2 other violinists I don't know who they are.

Thanks for the info, Shun! Like I said, this was my first Eagles concert since the 70s and 1980, so I'm not too up on all of them!

Ok, here’s a video review by an attendee. I like that he says Glenn wasn’t being replaced but that Vince Gill and Deacon are filling in for him.

You can't 'fill in' for someone who can't come back. ETA: In fact he said 'stepping in'. The meaning of that is slightly different.

However, this is still doublespeak at its finest. I'm sorry, once again I have to explain that while I don't comment in these threads, that takes the cake. The reality may as well be faced, instead of explained away with euphemisms. I'll go now.

I was glad to hear it from him too. I always loved Randy and what he brought to the band.

I agree with FP. They don't even do a proper tribute to Glenn  during the show. I go to an Eagles tribute band that plays here every springtime, and both years they played a proper tribute to him. Each time it consisted of a montage of video clips and photos being displayed. In 2016 the full 'Tequila Sunrise' played in the background, in 2017 they did similar using Wasted Time. But both times all the players stopped playing and actually LOOKED at the montage as they stood in respect to Glenn . Afterwards the audience gave them (and by default Glenn ) a standing ovation. This was a TRIBUTE Band, yet I feel they paid a better homage to the founder of the Eagles than his own band did.
It is like the remaining Eagles want to slowly dilute Glenn 's influence out of the band.
And what will happen when Deacon decides he's made enough money and has put his name out there and wants to go out on his own. Will another 'fill in' be organised? Or will Vince Gill be elevated to the status of Eagle......? Who knows?

Sorry, you’re right, I mis-quoted him. However the point is that like so many of us, he recognizes that it’s never going to be the same without Glenn, that no one can sound like him or play like him or have the same presence. He even says SBR is missing that centerpiece. I don’t believe anyone goes to these shows expecting Vince or Deacon to be just like Glenn.

It does sound like the tribute band does a nice job honoring Glenn’s memory. I wouldn’t rule out the possibility that the remaining Eagles perform some kind of special tribute of their own. It can still happen.

As to what I bolded, I honestly don’t think that is possible. By the time Deacon leaves, the band will probably have folded for good. I really don’t think we’re going to see a whole lot more of these video clips in the future, relatively speaking.

That's my YouTube review video that was shared. Hopefully it's not someone from here that felt that need to repeatedly swear, call me fat, and a redneck who doesn't know music.

I'm a big fan of music and I know what I like. I didn't go into last night's show expecting to hear Glenn and I know he's gone forever. That being said, there are some songs that really just miss his sound and voice. I think my review was overall positive.

I was verbally assaulted for my comments on Joe Walsh. I love Joe Walsh. My final project for a radio class final was a King Biscuit Flour Hour on Walsh. I stand by the fact that he's around 70 though. He nails the high notes in his style but vocally, some of his stuff isn't that great now in my opinion. Maybe part of it is he's been singing a couple of those songs for about 50 years and it's going through the motions... I don't know. He still plays a hell of a guitar and is entertaining.

Again... Just a fan of music who knows what he likes and doesn't.

Drove from Southern KY to see the Eagles last night with the Mrs. Our second time seeing them as we first saw them in 2010 at Busch Stadium in STL.
WOW. What a difference! Love Vince Gill and Deacon did a great job with the long hair and sunglasses...trying to channel the old man. But.....very different sound than with GF. We knew it would be different, but were surprised as to how different. Partly due to age and partly due to new members....you just can't replace "that" sound forged by singing together for so many years.
Still, we enjoyed it immensely and felt it worth the expense and effort.

Our highlights:
Opening with Seven Bridges Road (WOOOOOOOO!!!)
Ending with Desperado (Henley still holding off Old Man Time)
Everything Walsh played (He was on FIRE most of the time)
The 82 year old woman we sat by experiencing her first concert ever!
Identifying Ms Kentucky 2017 in line (very sweet young lady)

The lowlights:
Downtown Louisville construction (yikes!)
The guy in front of us recording EVERY song on his very bright phone and posting them on FB (dude......)
Did not sing The Long Run (what?!?!?!?)
Everything sung by Timmy B (Sorry, no offense, can't stand it...)
Getting up for work before 6:00 a.m. (worth it!!)

Hope to hear them again in the future, but sad that "that" sound will never be heard LIVE again.

Glad you had so much fun At the concert, at the classic east I was also disappointed they didn’t play the long run. Such a good song

Possibly singing "The Long Run" without Glenn would be a step too far for Don. "Who can go the distance, we'll find out..." takes on a different meaning.

I'm pleased to read all the reviews. It sounds like a good show.

I wholeheartedly agree with you, UTW, regarding the reasons they aren't singing The Long Run since the resumption. Though I wish they were, too, because it's probably my favorite Eagles song and the one I shared most closely with my late mother.

I've seen the band twice without Glenn, including this show in Louisville. It's very different. Something is obviously missing, which goes without saying. I know many are steadfastly against it, but my wish is for every Eagles fan to see Deacon perform with the band. It's heartwarming. And also he's really, really good. He has an incredible stage presence and a wonderful demeanor.

Totally agree on the last paragraph. It's awesome seeing Deacon with the remaining Eagles and Vince. It's not my favorite, but I love The Long Run, and miss it, too, although I can understand why they're not doing it.

A couple of videos I took the other night. They're not the best since I was at the top of the arena. The first one is about 2 minutes of PEF, and the 2nd one is about 2 minutes of Walk Away.
