The guys are playing in Nashville for the next two nights. Vince's home turf. JD & The Straight Shot are the opening act.

I wonder what country star will be there tonight and tomorrow night.

From pictures online, Timothy is wearing a walking boot but he’s still sitting. I had to wear one of those things for months last year when I broke my ankle. Not fun to wear.

We know Timothy doesn't like to sit around. Let's hope he can stay off that ankle long enough to let it heal! 💘 Take good care, Timothy!!

Also, a review by The Tennessean.

This was a cool thing for Don to do:

Between songs, Henley gave shoutouts to J.D. Souther, who co-wrote several Eagles songs, and country artist Ashley Monroe; he even plugged the latter's forthcoming album, which is due in April. "It's the real deal," he promised.

I saw a picture at the end and it looks like Timothy is not using crutches. So he probably can put pressure on that foot, but probably can't stand those almost 3 hours. We might see Timothy out of the boot when they come back from the 2 week break. I hope Timothy takes care of himself while off. I know how he feels. I hated wearing that boot for 2 months and most of the time, I couldn't put pressure on it.

That was a good article. A friend of mines was at the concert last night. I didn't know she was going. If I wasn't going to the New Orleans show, I would had been jealous. Lol

Hey, shun! Thanks again for all you do to keep us updated in these concert threads.

An injury to the ankle can be a tricky thing, I hear. So glad your ankle healed up nicely.

I hope you have tons of fun at the New Orleans show!

Here are some video snippets of varying lengths of the following songs: PEF, Tequila Sunrise, TIE w/ a Vince guitar solo (gets applause), WW w/intro, LE, Walk Away (Joe struggling vocally a little), some Joe dialogue, HC, LBG, HC w/intro (no horn), RMW. Based on the clothes it looks to be from the first night.

Another video sampler, mostly Joe songs. Also at the end they are walking off stage and Timothy is limping a little but still ambulatory.

Funk 49. I could be wrong, but I didn't see Don at the first half of this song and he magically reappeared when Joe was doing his guitar and the horn solo before they went back into the song.

We attended both nights. On Friday night we sat in Section 14 on Timothy's side of the stage. On Saturday we had floor seats about 12 rows back. As you can tell from the previously posted photos, the video boards were great. Both shows were awesome, well put together and I'm very happy I attended. I consider them Eagles shows. Deacon did an incredible job and he definitely appears more relaxed and looks the part. Vince was great too and, of course, with him being in Nashville's "Home Boy" as Don called him, he generated lots of applause.

Just a few photos attached. There is one I took of Joe's wife, Marjorie, as she was walking past us on the floor. One shows Will Henley on Vince's right. He looked very stoic and stood still as he was strumming on guitar on the songs where he joined him. They had Glenn's photo on the big screen after Deacon sang PEF. I did not get the sense that Glenn was "forgotten" in the show as some have mentioned. After the show was over I got a photo of one of Joe's lucky ducks - "The Dude" from the Big Lebowski.

Don did mention on Saturday night about the number of eighteen wheelers, buses, crew, etc. along with most importantly, "one accountant." I got the sense from that comment that he meant, that they needed to have someone to keep track of everything! (disclaimer - I'm a CPA myself!)

On Friday, Timothy was on crutches - on Saturday he still was wearing his boot but he walked on stage to his seat and then back and forth during the encores.

Thanks, Shun. I’m impressed how well Deacon sings Already Gone. It seems to me that is one of the harder songs to sing in the Eagles catalog. This has probably been addressed before, but is it Steuart playing the guitar solo?

Thanks for the review and pics longtimeeaglesfan. Don has such a dry sense of humor and I took his “accountant” comment as a joke.

Sunny, at least you were able to get some video. It’s much appreciated.

ON Already Gone? Yes that's Steuart and Deacon is playing his father's old guitar solo part. I'm glad he has a guitar solo. I think that's his only guitar solo in the whole show. He's getting better with Already Gone. Deacon is a good guitar player. I was even impressed when did a few guitar solos when he was a teenager.

I feel so bad for Timothy. He has to be uncomfortable. I'm glad he was walking now even if its in the boot.

We also saw Chris Carmack at the show on Saturday night. He is the singer/actor who plays Will Lexington on the TV show, "Nashville."

My fiancé talked to him and got a selfie with him.

He is engaged and has a child with Erin Slaver who is the talented fiddle player/vocalist in JD & the Straight Shot.

We attended Friday night. We were so close that it was surreal!

Vince was funny and sweet, as usual. He sang like an angel and was funny as ever.

The were no nerves in evidence with Deacon. He appeared to be right at home and did a wonderful job. (His vocals aren't at the level of his father's, of course, but still very fine.) He looks so much like Glenn but you can definitely see Cindy in him, too.

Timmy was in fine voice and sounded great. He joked about having "fallen and can't get up."

What can I say about Joe Walsh? He's crazy! (In a good way!) At one point, I turned to my son and said, "That's Joe Walsh. In person. HE IS STANDING RIGHT OVER THERE." We were grinning like idiots!

Don did a great job and he looked great, too. It must be really hard to drum and sing at the same time, especially for 2 1/2 hours, especially at his age, but I couldn't really tell it.

There were 20,000 satisfied fans leaving that venue afterwards, all of us grinning and singing, buying t-shirts. It was one of the highlights of my life, one that I will always remember. It was everything that I had hoped for. I actually cried with joy!

Do I wish I could have seen them in their heyday with Glenn, Don Felder, Randy, and Bernie? ABSOLUTELY. I would give almost anything to be able to do that. But was it still a fantastic concert? ABSOLUTELY. Would I go again? You bet you *** I would! If you get the chance, GO. JUST GO.

PS As far as the set list, I don't think they deviated much from what I have seen posted in other concert threads. Also, there were no guests, which was surprising to me. Country stars were in attendance but they did not sit in on the show.

I notice Vince added a little high note (or spin) before the end of the video of Take It To The Limit. He didn't try to hit that famous high note Randy did. He's slowly starting to make it his own. Make it your own, Vince.

Delilah

To me it sounds like the same high-pitched vocalizations Randy did. Which Vince does well. :singer:

shunlvswx
03-28-2018, 11:27 AM
No. Not that one. At 0:31, Vince kinda adds a little extra to the song. I don't remember Randy doing that. I think that's the first time I ever heard Vince do that. He always kept it straight and only did high note vocalization.

ETA: Oops. Nevermind. I heard audio from Kansas City, and he is doing that high-pitched vocalization at the point I'm talking about, but just a little lower. He did a great job.

He sure does! I was nervous to hear him sing it because I am a big fan of Randy Meisner, and of that song in particular, but I shouldn't have worried. He did a great job and I really enjoyed it. And yes, he can sing just as high. It was beautiful. Was it Randy Meisner circa 1974? Of course not. But it was still very fine. :inlove:
