The Border turns 13 today!

I started its precursor, Flip City, on December 15, 2005 and then that morphed into the Border.

The Border almost died this year, and it's still in recovery mode. The important thing is, though, that we made it through.

Thank you again to all those who financially contributed, and thanks to those who have stuck around.

We're going to keep on keepin' on!

I'm just SO HAPPY WE MADE IT!

Yay! So glad the Border is still here!

I've read the forum here for a few years now, but decided to join (for reals) this year.

As I've said before: Thanks, soda, for such a cool place to hang out. (Wish I'd found it about 10 years ago!)

Awesome! Thanks to Soda and the mods for doing a great job and to everyone for keeping it running.

I hope to crack 10,000 posts here next year. I've been here for 8 years, soon to be 9! Glad to have been along for most of the ride!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO THE BORDER!!!

It's hard to believe we've been around for 13 years now. I don't know how long I thought we'd be around in the beginning, but I'm sure I was thinking maybe 2 or 3 or 5 years at the most ... and here we still are. It hasn't always been smooth sailing, but that's to be expected on a rock band message board with such passionate fans. This past year has definitely been one of our most challenging, but I am also thankful for those of you who 'hung in there' and waited so patiently while the board was basically being rebuilt. As we have said so often, without all of our member contributions throughout the years, the board would be just an empty shell. However, what we have instead is a treasure trove of valuable resource information that is archived for fans for what will, hopefully, be many years to come. Thank you, Nancy, for your dedication - as an Eagles fan, I am forever grateful for this place.

Thirteen years! A cause for celebration to be sure! A great big "thank you!" to Soda and the mods for running a site with integrity and high standards that is such a pleasure to be a part of. There is a great community here not to be found elsewhere.

This is a special place to be sure. I'm so glad we're gonna "keep on keepin' on"!

Happy Anniversary to The Border!

Happy Anniversary to the Border!

Wow, 13 years!

I'm so glad to have found Flip City and the Border! I have learned so much about my all time favorite band and met some wonderful people and made lifelong friends through it! Without it that would have never happened! I was fairly new to the whole internet thing back then!

Thank you so much Nancy for sticking it out and helping it to grow into such a wonderful place! :applause:

Happy Anniversary to The Border! My only regret is how/why I joined when I did following the shocking, incredibly sad news of Glenn Frey's passing. I am especially grateful to all the Borderers and especially Soda and her awesome team of moderators. Each and every one of you are special and it's been a pleasure sharing our thoughts and feelings about one of the most (if not THE most) iconic bands of all time. :applause::heart::yay::spin::nod::smitten:

My only regret is how/why I joined when I did following the shocking, incredibly sad news of Glenn Frey's passing.

That's when I found this place and started reading (and stealing photos!). It just took me a while to grab a username and join in. Wish I'd found The Border ten years ago! But so happy to be here now.

Cheers to soda!

Belated Happy Birthday to the Border. I joined early in 2007 after 'lurking' for a few weeks. I must say its my Number 1 goto site for anything eagles related. I used love waiting to log on after the guys had played a show to see how they sounded and how they looked. Also I would never have been able to go to see Glenn  singing live in Niagara Falls and LA in 2011 and 2012 without help of the Border as it was here that I learned about the shows and also made the friends who I accompanied.

I don't get on as much as I used to because I'm on the go most of the day now, but even if I can't post I do check up.

And of course the best thing about the Border is the many people I have met both online and in reality that I am proud to call my friends. I'm so glad too that the Border managed to survive the Glitch earlier this year. I'd love to raise a toast to Nancy for all the work she has done over the last 13 years to keep this amazing message board alive :cheers::cheers:
