I think this is the right place to post this....
I got my ticket last week and just found out that Randy will be playing with Richie & friends & family. That's what Richie's son in-law Tom said on Facebook. I wonder if Tim will be there too?
Here's the link if anyone is interested...https://www.richiefuray.com/tour

Ive always been a dreamer

Thanks for the heads up, MJ. Nice to see Randy participating in this.

BTW - I moved this thread to Randy's forum.

Isn’t it?! Randy retired from performing in 2008. Now, 12 years later ... I can’t even speak. Wow. One thing is for sure: this is a beautiful thing in a year of epic harshness. And then along comes Randy to bring some sweetness and light.

Counting down, peeps! Here is Richie’s welcome video - The Meis is mentioned and a recent (2018) photo appears. So excited! https://m.youtube.com/watch?fbclid=IwAR39uKtoi7chqwgArIMovomPg16Eoz_VnUB DJDJug0XmbZ-iWY59OKXGeUc&feature=share&v=U2rGw-26B44

My son got my laptop set up to our TV so I can watch it on the big screen. Very excited. Richie's son inlaw, Tom Lynch is playing as well. He doesn't tour with him, and is a good friend, so I'm excited to hear him. :band:

Randy!! For those of you who didn't see it, The Meis sang background vocals on the Buffalo Springfield song "For What It's Worth." He wore a trucker hat, headphones and has very long hair. LOL, still a hippie :)

I could only really hear his voice toward the end, because Richie and his daughter Jesse were singing louder, but I think he sounds good. I'm very happy he can still sing.

I did as well. But realized tha they were just not showing the inbetween song banter.Which is a shame. When I saw Richie in concert live, the conversations & intros were almost the best part. Randy looked great, though, I thought.

Well it was more than skipping banter for me, the video kept freezing and the sound would cut out.

But it was great seeing and hearing Randy. He can still sing, yay!

I guess it’s over even though my screen says that the stream should begin momentarily. With the issues I was having I probably missed the finale.

I thought I was going to miss this. About 3 1/2 hrs ago our power cut off. It turns out to be a rolling brown-out due to downed power lines caused by the hurricane. And our backup generator isn’t working. So I had to use the personal hotspot on my phone to get internet connection on my iPad and watch it from my car in the driveway. That may have been why I got such bad reception. And the power just came back on 20 minutes ago. Go figure! :hilarious:

No. I think that was it. There were closing credits. I think that it will be available to watch again for a limited time. Not sure.

Ok, i definitely did not see the closing credits. My son got in the car with me to cool off and I may have been distracted. I would love to watch it again so hopefully it will be available for a little while.

Did anyone do the meet and greet?

NightMistBlue

I know some people who did the meet & greet; Randy wasn’t part of it, just Richie.

The guy who headed the production said they would rebroadcast the concert “in a few weeks” due to all the technical difficulties. No further details were given. My guess is that they had so many people for this rare appearance by Randy, that the demand outstripped the server’s capacity.

Thanks, NMB. That must have been a nice experience. I’m not surprised Randy wasn’t involved, I wasn’t expecting it.

That would be most welcome! If Randy’s appearance caused such a boost in demand, it shows how his fans really miss him. I had wondered at the time if Richie’s house being at a somewhat high altitude in the middle of nowhere (or so it seemed) had something to do with it. What a lovely peaceful setting.

Richie’s gorgeous house does indeed look remote, but he’s done a series of these Back Porch Sessions - apparently with no issues, so I’m assuming it was the ever-fascinating and mysterious Meis who “broke the Internet” or at least the livestream!

I just finished watching the re-broadcast of Richie's virtual concert. I filmed this on my phone so the quality is bad, but there's our Randy!

I’m so happy this was shown again and I was able to see the concert uninterrupted without any issues. Seeing and hearing Randy sing was bittersweet. After everything he’s been through it’s heartwarming to see him still perform but he looked quite frail. I hope he stays safe and healthy especially during these risky times.

There's going to be another one on October 30th. Randy participated in Mr. Furay's Back Porch Session last night. He looked healthy and good. Many, including myself, were not able to hear his vocal this time. So grateful that Randy is doing well, and who knows? Maybe these little forays back into music are giving him confidence to do something on his own. How about some Randy's Bedroom Sessions? One can dream and wish and hope and pray.

Anyhoo, here is an image from last night. I hope this works; is it me or did Imgur make their website/process/everything harder?

I wasn’t able to hear Randy either. There were moments when it seemed like it could be his voice but it was probably someone else’s. It’s too bad b/c “Pickin’ Up the Pieces” was a song he originally performed on with Poco and it would have been nice to hear his vocal on it. I’m inclined to believe he just doesn’t have enough strength vocally to really sing again. His backing vocals were often so prominent and distinguishable. Even in the first Richie concert, his voice was not that strong. That being said, hopefully NMB’s wish that he does something on his own at some point comes true. That would be great.

Stay safe and well, Randy!!

I couldn’t see a mic in front of Randy at either of the two sessions, but maybe it was out of camera range. There were two other singers at last night’s concert who were singing directly into a mic, and I couldn’t really hear them either! Perhaps the mix was to blame. Still, it was good to see Randy. He’s overcome so much, he’s an inspiration.

I wish I could have seen it as I adore Randy, but just knowing he was even there at all makes me so very happy! I worry about him and who's looking out for him so the fact that he logistically even made it there is wonderful!

Hi JLE, Randy participated from his home, but it’s still great that he was able to do that.
