Nancy,

Thanks so much for the heads-up! You rox girl!

I'm definitely going. Called the Roxy and they have no idea about tickets sales yet but J D & the Straight Shot's myspace page says that tickets will be priced as follows: GA ($50) & VIP ($125). Here is the web-link to that:

http://collect.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=music.showDetails&Band_Show_ID=32133368&friendid=104382482

This should keep me going until they get closer to L.A. again. Sure wish you could be there. Lissa if you're reading this and want a concert-buddy let me know.

BTW: Have a great time on Monday at the Hard Rock concert. Wish I could go.

Tickets went on sale at 12:30 p.m. this afternoon and I bought the very first one. WhooHoo :P Here is the web-link. They are being sold through the National Kidney Foundation of SoCal-not the Roxy.

http://kidneysocal.org/

There is toll free number to call if you live in Cali not listed on the poster and it is: In California: 800.747.5527

As Nancy can tell you, when we saw Glenn Frey there in April, he spent most of the evening sitting with his family/friends in the VIP section which is a very small area. Knowing this, I bought a VIP ticket for this benefit, hoping Joe will do the same as Glenn and hang out there before/after the show. Who knows who might show up-maybe even Henley. Remember Henley was feted by MusiCare last year at a pre-Grammy party/concert and the benefit is for the Senior Director of MusiCares, Harold Owens.

Joe was on the Mark & Brian Show (KLOS) this morning plugging tomorrow night's benefit concert. Turns out that Harold Owens was Joe's counselor when he was going through rehab some 14 years ago. He said that the guy will just make it but he will make it and said that there will be a big silent auction before the show.

I got to heard it on my morning walk and it really put a spring in my step. Just think in 24 hrs I will be on my way to the Roxy. Will give everyone the low-down sometime Wednesday. Hopefully, I'll get a few pixs too.

In about 12 hours I'll be heading inside the Roxy. I can barely breath. Gotta go. Lots of things to do before tonight's show.

BTW: The National Kidney Foundation of SoCal is taking donations on their web-site if anyone can't make the show but still wants to contribute.

A bit too tired right now to write much of a review but here are the highlights.

Will Hollis and Michael Thompson lent a hand (or two) on keyboards while Irving Azoff lent his support. Joe was white-hot, impishly animated, and hell-bent on vibing Robert Plant right of the stage 'cross town at the Greek Theater. Rumor is Plant said to Alison Krause, "Hey woman..I...Need...Ahhhh....love....nooooooo....Jim my Page....Help" LOL!!

Joe got to do Funk 49 much to everyone's delight. :D He sat in on about 6 Straight Shot songs including my personal favorite Slow Motion In Reverse a catchy ditty that had all of us snapping our fingers and bopping our heads just like J.D. himself. What a character that guy is.

We grabbed a table right in front of J.D. and Joe and I was able to get a ton of pixs and a few short videos. I'll hook eveyone up later. For those of you who are members of JWFC, hop on over there and check out the pixs I posted on the photo-board.

Now to get some sleep!

Wow, Carol! Sounds like you had a great time! I loved the Plant reference! Another variant might be: 'hey hey mama said the way Walsh moves' or 'if Walsh keeps on playing the levee's going to break'. 8)

FreyPower-That's about right! LOL.

Here's another: "Hey Alison, stop fiddlin' around!" Sorry Alison Krause fans but I had to say it.
