The only problem with this would be if they took you off hold--it would be tempting to say "put me back on till the song is over please".
Again this weekend, as they do every weekend, WAOR 95.30 had their block party weekend and once again was able to catch a couple blocks of 3 songs by our guys!

Re: Hearing the Eagles or solo songs unexpectedly!
I was treating to the Greatest Hits at work today by one of my service users. He knows I love the Eagles so he blasted it from his room all morning. The CD even repeated itself. I didn't complain!

I was thinking the same thing when I read FFL's post.
Lou, that was nice of him to play the Eagles for you.
I don't know who it was that was playing the music at work last night but they were playing some great songs. I got to jam out to a lot of good classic rock and just when I was thinking "Why aren't they playing the Eagles too?" I heard the beginning of a familiar song. :yay: Sunset Grill was playing. Not the Eagles, but it was just as satisfying.

Re: Hearing the Eagles or solo songs unexpectedly!
Just with the shopping I heard Hotel California! Today I needed a little longer for my purchases.
This was the first timel I heard the Eagles in a shop.:partytime:

Re: Hearing the Eagles or solo songs unexpectedly!
I was heading out to work this afternoon, feeling quite disgruntled, as I had just tried to get tix to see Bruce in Asbury Park, and was not successful.:-(
I got in the car, and I just happened to turn on a radio station that I rarely listen to. Well, thank goodness I did listen today, as "Peaceful Easy Feeling" was playing!! I made sure to drive slowly, so I could hear the entire song. That really cheered me up!

Re: Hearing the Eagles or solo songs unexpectedly!
Okay, The last three of four days (maybe longer since I didnt go anywhere yesterday) every time I get in the car and turn on the radio, there's an Eagles song playing!! the first time it was Hotel California, then Lyin' Eyes and today it was Fastlane! (there may have been another in between there) If this keeps up Im going to start making up places to go just to turn on the car radio! *G*

Re: Hearing the Eagles or solo songs unexpectedly!
Okay, I have been hearing the Eagles music everywhere lately. Last night I went out to dinner with my family and we got to hear "Peaceful Easy Feeling". Then, late that night while I was at the grocery store, I heard "Take It Easy". And today, while I was out bowling, I got to hear "Witchy Woman", "Heartache Tonight", "Already Gone", AND "LITFL". I didn't get to see who selected the songs off the tune selector, but whoever it was, I applaud their music selections  Needless to say, it was the best time I had had bowling in a while :hilarious:

Re: Hearing the Eagles or solo songs unexpectedly!
We had to run out for awhile today (even tho everyone here is sick this weekend!) and when I ran into Walmart for some cold medications, they were playing PEF. We decided to stop and get a good lunch so no one would have to cook, as we were just getting up from the table to leave, Boys Of Summer came on so I sat there and said now we had to wait. Larry said no we won't because we would probably just hear it in the car anyways! :p Need I say, I made sure we did!

Re: Hearing the Eagles or solo songs unexpectedly!
Last night I was watching the show Brothers and Sisters. There was a segment where Timmy's Make You Feel My Love was playing in the background. Only someone else was singing. I thought 'why are they not playing Timmy's version?'
-
Re: Hearing the Eagles or solo songs unexpectedly!
Hey Brooke, I heard Make You Feel My Love on B&S last night, too. I know the song has been covered quite a lot. I'm pretty sure the version they used last night was by Adele. How great would it have been to hear Timothy though

For what it's worth, the original version is on Bob Dylan's Time Out Of Mind album.

Re: Hearing the Eagles or solo songs unexpectedly!
WOWOW! OKay, so we went to Ashland for lunch with MIL and SIL and Nephew and the rest of the family clan, we were seated and awaiting our meals and I had to stop at familiar refrains and HUSH my SIL and listen. Help Me Through The Night was playing! WOW! surpirse! I squealed loudly "I Love this song!!" then we all listened and when It was through, as I was informing all my table mates (and surrounding tables) all about Joe, Funk 49 came on! I Squealed again! I was one happy camper and my family all thinks I've swiflty gone over the edge into dangerous territory. HA! the fools! dont they know I passed dangerous territory MONTHS ago! MUWAHAHAHAHAHA!

Re: Hearing the Eagles or solo songs unexpectedly!
Yesterday, as I was driving down the road to the grocery store, I saw a van that had Eagles Medical Supplies on it - never had heard of it before, but now I know who to call if I need an inhaler! But the best part was when I got inside the store, I got a double treat - first they played The Last Worthless Evening, and then about 15 minutes later, True Love came on. I think they must have seen me coming because I hung around that place a lot longer than usual, and bought about twice as much as I intended. But, all in all, a very good trip. I think I need to get out more.

Re: Hearing the Eagles or solo songs unexpectedly!
Wow! Dreamer & Ticky, you were both really lucky.
A little less surprising, but I heard One Of These Nights on the radio today. I cannot wait to hear this song live.

Re: Hearing the Eagles or solo songs unexpectedly!
Oh my gosh...I was shopping at the grocery store tonight and I about had a heart attack! I stopped so fast my shoes squeaked on the floor! You should have seen the weird looks I got. They were playing "What Do I Do With My Heart!" I've never heard a store of any kind play that yet! I was so excited....obviously! lol :hilarious:

Re: Hearing the Eagles or solo songs unexpectedly!
Last night, while in the tanning bed, I had my ipod and I was listening to... well you all know, anyways, the last song I heard as I was leaving the room was Take It Easy. As I started my car in the lot, Take It Easy was just starting on the radio... and I still sat outside in the driveway till it was done- again. :hilarious: Oh So Pathetic!!!

Re: Hearing the Eagles or solo songs unexpectedly!
Last night I was in our local Borders Store, and they started playing "Peaceful Easy Feeling"! :) Of course I had to run around looking for my hubby and son to let them know what was playing-lol. Then I had to stand close to a speaker, so I could hear it more clearly. What a nice treat for a Friday evening, after a long day at work!

Re: Hearing the Eagles or solo songs unexpectedly!
Now, I am not someone who dreams a lot, and, if I do, I usually don't remember them. But, this morning when I was coming out of my sleep, Tim's song 'A Better Day Is Coming' was playing over and over in my head as I was waking up. As I said, I don't remember dreaming anything. The only explanation I have is that this is somehow related to the Timothy Survivor Game. I have no idea why it was this song because it isn't a standout for me in terms of being my favorite or least favorites of Timothy's solo songs. Another explanation could be that someone is trying to reassure me that my overall crappy week is coming to an end. If this is true, then the song may move up a few notches on my 'favorites' list.

Re: Hearing the Eagles or solo songs unexpectedly!
Lol Dreamer, the same thing happened to me at work yesterday! Was It Just The Moonlight kept playing over and over in my head. I've never heard the song until Monday while preparing for Survivor so I'm sure that's why I'm hearing it in my head! (That and In Roxy's Eyes).
-
Re: Hearing the Eagles or solo songs unexpectedly!
I kept hearing In Roxy's Eyes over and over yesterday. Even started singing it in the shower!

Welcome to my world girls!!!! :hilarious:

Re: Hearing the Eagles or solo songs unexpectedly!
The whole Easter week-end were the best 777 songs of the 70s to hear on the radio.
Eagles were represented 6 times :), with these songs:
Place 6 = Hotel California
Place 193 = Peaceful Easy Feeling
Place 313 = Tequila Sunrise
Place 418 = New Kid in Town
Place 693 = The Long Run
Place 718 = Take it Easy

Re: Hearing the Eagles or solo songs unexpectedly!
That's cool Koala--would of loved to have heard that whole thing!!
-
Re: Hearing the Eagles or solo songs unexpectedly!
That's great - but they didn't get any closer than 193? Boooo!!!
-
Re: Hearing the Eagles or solo songs unexpectedly!
Unfortunately, I have heard only Take it easy, Hotel California and Peaceful Easy Feeling!
Yes it is really a disgrace after the good 6 place for Hotel California the next Eagles song only on 193 places was!

:doh:For some reason, even though it's highlighted (or maybe because it's highlighted) I didn't see Hotel California as being #6! That's much better!

Re: Hearing the Eagles or solo songs unexpectedly!
I was surprised yesterday to hear Victim Of Love on an online classic rock radio station.
-
Re: Hearing the Eagles or solo songs unexpectedly!
I was walking through the parking lot at the grocery store late tonight, and heard "New York Minute" coming out of the speakers from the store. It really took me by surprise, and for one moment, I thought I was imagining it. Quite a nice little surprise!:)

Re: Hearing the Eagles or solo songs unexpectedly!
My brother and SIL are here visiting from Indy and while we were on our way to visit our parents, we stopped in at a filling station. We were perusing the isles when I heard my brother say "Oh no! Now we'll never get out of here..." Seconds after that I realized that What Do I Do With My Heart had come on the speaker! I of course had to stay and listen to the whole thing :)
-
Re: Hearing the Eagles or solo songs unexpectedly!

Re: Hearing the Eagles or solo songs unexpectedly!
Hubby and I went out with some friends Friday night. Our friend Chris went to play the jukebox and awhile later I was mid sentence when I stopped because I heard Hotel California come on. He was playing one song for everyone and that was the one he of course chose for me. My hubby acted like he was shooting himself in the head and told Chris not to encourage me. I became the topic of discussion and they all came to the conclusion that it's an obsession---Gee, you think so? DUH!!!!!:???:
Then Saturday morning, we all went out to breakfast at a restaurant that we frequent a block away and we were walking back, and when we passed the service station of the corner Take It Easy was playing. I stopped and everyone else just shook their heads and kept walking. They just don't understand me! :hilarious:

I can relate to these two incidents! I've also had the "don't encourage her" and head shaking... Thank goodness, we obsessed fans have found each other. :hilarious:

Re: Hearing the Eagles or solo songs unexpectedly!
I was listening to a podcast of a radio show from the States and they played a blast of All She Wants To Do Is Dance between the ads and the speech!

Good thing you were only a block from home and not in some strange city on vacation!

Re: Hearing the Eagles or solo songs unexpectedly!
I went into a camera shop today just to make an enquiry only to realise that AG was playing in the background. I mumbled some sort of answer then just stayed browsing the photo machine until it finished!!

Re: Hearing the Eagles or solo songs unexpectedly!
At work now and Already Gone is on the radio... Ahhhh, I don't think I'll work for the next three minutes. =)
It was on the "true oldies channel"... true oldie?
Still every bit current to me!

Re: Hearing the Eagles or solo songs unexpectedly!
Absolutely - all thing must stop when you hear an Eagles tune unexpectedly!!! I've been dying to post this since last week, but as I said in another thread, I haven't been able to get on the board much. Last week, my sister and I were on a day trip, and she drove. We were only on the road for a few minutes and my sister said, "Gosh, you should have brought some of your Eagles CD's. How in the world are you going to get through this whole trip without any Eagles music?" First, I scolded her for not having at least one single Eagles CD in her car. But then, I told her not to panic, surely if we find a classic rock radio station, we would not have to go too long without hearing an Eagles song. I got the eyeroll, but, of course, I was right on - within a half hour, we heard Take It Easy and later on, One of These Nights. But the best part was on the return trip home, we got a Hotel California 3-pack - that's right - Hotel California, New Kid In Town, and Wasted Time all in a row without commercial interruption. I couldn't help but just sit back with a huge grin on my face as I looked at her and said "I told you we'd hear plenty of Eagles music!" :yay: :yay: :yay:
