Happy Belated Thanksgiving to all Border members. I was traveling with my family. We have a wonderful day so thankful!!
Yep - I haven't been around here much during the holidays - it's been crazy busy for me, but I would like to wish all of my fellow Borderers in the U.S. a belated Happy Thanksgiving. Hope you all had plenty of good eats - I know I sure did. We are so fortunate and have so much to be thankful for in our country.
Just wanted to wish everyone that celebrates it a
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
I am cooking for some of our family tomorrow and will need to start preparations when I get home from work later, so I won't be around! Small group-our daughter, son, mom, one of my brother's and his wife. Our adorable grandson and his Mommy are going to her family's several hours away, so we will be missing them. Our son has to work on Friday and couldn't go or we'd be missing him too.
What will you have? We are having the norm turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, noodles, sweet potatoes, green beans, rolls, pumpkin pie! Just a few carbs!
Enjoy your families and friends everyone! And don't eat too much!

My family gathering is even smaller, just my uncle, my mom and myself. We'll over at his place. In a few minutes, I'm going over to help him start smoking the turkey. I'll head home tonight, and mom and I will go back out there tomorrow in time for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
What I know we're having:
Smoked turkey breast
Smithfield picnic (shoulder) ham
Mashed potatoes
Baked mac n cheese
Jellied Cranberry sauce
Mustard Greens
Corn (possibly)
Dressing (not stuffing!)
Vanilla poundcake
Chocolate peanut butter cookies
That's alot for 3 people!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! *gobble gobble*
Happy Thanksgiving to a great bunch of folks!!

I hope all Borderers here in the U.S. enjoy their Thanksgiving day. Even with our problems, we certainly have so much to be thankful for in this country. As I've done for the past several year's, I'm posting the lyrics from this beautiful Don Henley song ...
For every moment of joy
Every hour of fear
For every winding road that brought me here
For every breath, for every day of living
This is my Thanksgiving
HAPPY THANKSGIVING BORDERERS!
My menu:
Turkey
Stuffing and Gravy
Smithfield Ham
Mashed potatoes
Candied Yams
Collard Greens
Baby Lima Beans
Cranberry Gelatin Salad
Deviled Eggs
Pumpkin Pie
Banana Pudding
Wish a happy thanksgiving for all borderers! Enjoy your turkey;-) Well, since we don't really celebrate this festival in my country, we don't even have any specials in our school canteen.. But I think the concept of thanksgiving is universal. ^_^
And thanks for sharing the lyrics, dreamer.I can't believe I never know this song before!! I love these lines and have just finished translating all the lyrics into Chinese. Can't wait to share it with my friends :D
Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Borderers!
