Re: Concerts
I just checked - he's playing up in Aurora, IL (a suburb of Chicago) on October 15. It's a Friday night and I work the next day, but it's out there far enough that I might be able to get the time off. Hubby would be thrilled...(not a fan).
I also got an alert that REO is playing in Effingham, IL on Dec. 3. I've seen them lots of times, the last time being 1996. I think it's due time...

Re: Concerts
Seems like a good year to catch up on some of the other Legacy Groups of the 60's and 70's. I'll just miss Jefferson Starship out in Vegas by one weekend and have already missed Little River Band out there. The one I didn't mind missing was the (forgot what it's called...great memory...just short) ahhh....TRIBUTE Band doing Fleetwood Mac. I'd rather see the "real thang!"
Canned Heat did a gig out in Vegas I think it was last year. Would love to have caught that one!

Re: Concerts
I saw Green Day in concert tonight! What an awesome show-they played for three hours and did every one of the songs I love so much.Their singer, Billie Joe Armstrong is quite the showman-he had the audience engaged the entire time! I don't think I have ever sang, danced and threw my arms up in the air so much at any concert!:hilarious:

Re: Concerts
Way to go, Stars. Glad you had a good time. Green Day is one of the few modern day bands that I enjoy. I've never thought about seeing them in concert though. I may have to put that on my bucket list.

Great, Stars! I like a couple of their songs and only knew them from recommendations from this board. And maybe it was you!

Re: Concerts
So glad to hear there are other Green Day fans on the Board! It was such a fantastic concert-I have to say, I have never experienced anything like it before. The way the entire audience was participating for three hours just blew my mind-Billie Joe even gave away two of his guitars to audience members, hosed off the folks in the pit, and brought several fans onto the stage to sing along on various songs!!:partytime:
Dreamer, I definitely think you should put Green Day on your bucket list! You will have an experience of a lifetime seeing them live!!:blueblob:
