Re: Remembering Glenn Frey
I adore this. that is beautiful ladies.
I had a customer come in and an eagles song was playing. He was a huge fan and he asked me if I knew of them. I told him yes and he went on to mention Glenn and I had to tell him that I couldn't talk about it without getting emotional. He says they were the best band in the world.
Re: Remembering Glenn Frey
I love the desert tribute to Glenn. That was a beautiful gesture of love.
Re: Remembering Glenn Frey
That is a beautiful tribute to Glenn :ladies: and thank you for doing it on all our behalfs. I will be in the LA area in August and I wiull try (subject to family constraints) to look up this place too. If I gat there I will look out for your tribute! I'm sure you were all very emotional.
Re: Remembering Glenn Frey
Really cool!!! Thanks so much for sharing - what an amazing iconic in it's own right tribute to the Eagles.
Re: Remembering Glenn Frey
To be honest, I wasn't really that interested in going to Joshua Tree at first because it's about a 3-hour drive from L.A., but mainly because I figured we had about a one-in-a-gazillion chance in finding the spot where they did the photo shoot. However, I kept thinking about Glenn encouraging a disgruntled Randy at the time who proclaimed "I come from the country, I don't need to go out in the wilderness" - "But, Randy, we're the sons of the desert - we gotta do this". As Soda said, we didn't have much trouble at all. I'm pretty confident we were in the right area by comparing it with the photos and given it's history. And as HB said, it is, indeed, a spiritual and mystical place, and, now, I am very glad we did it. Building the memorial for Glenn was emotional and when we were done, the three of us just stood in silence staring at it for a few minutes, and, then, without saying a word, we all turned together and walked away.
Re: Remembering Glenn Frey
I'm getting emotional just reading about it. Big hugs to the three of you.
Re: Remembering Glenn Frey
I friends with a couple Mets fans and they told me knowing how huge of a fan I am of Glenn that they used his song "You Belong to the City" again as the team honored the upcoming 30th anniversary of the New York Mets winning the World Series in 1986 before today's game. I guess the team used to use this song during that series and there was a video created to that song with highlights of the game for their 10th anniversary in 1996. But this time they also paid tribute to Glenn and how this song became part of Mets. I had no idea about that and so glad my friends who are at the game told me.

I've been meaning to post this here for some time now, but kept forgetting. A band called The Meetles posted this on their Facebook page on March 5th. Apparently Taylor was at one of their shows ...

It is very touching that she would do this so soon after losing her Dad.
Re: Remembering Glenn Frey
I saw that last March and also meant to post it, a lovely simple sweet comment from Taylor. Thanks for posting it Dreamer
