Madison Square Garden, NYC - Nov. 9, 2013
Had a really great time tonight !! The band were in great spirits, and Joe had a lot of fun with Glenn and Steuart. It would also appear Glenn and Don fired their wardrobe person, as they seem to wear the same clothes all the time. My only complaint would be that I felt the sound was too low, as I had a hard time hearing them when they were talking, and the new seating catwalk thing kinda ruins the whole airiness of the place.
On a personal note, I feel terrible that I wasn't able to meet with anyone, but traveling there was a little more painful then I anticipated. Some days are better than others, and today was pretty bad. I texted HH, knowing she would share the info with Dreamer and everyone else. I can't thank the folks at MSG enough for their kindness to me. They even got me my own personal wheelchair assistant !!
I hope those that made it had a wonderful time, and I hope you all got the MSG event shirts, too !! They're pretty cool !!

OMG!!! Show was amazing last night. My section was reeking with pot, so I was high off the fumes!!!The guys looked & sounded fantastic. I thought the sound was perfect at the Garden last night!!
TIMMY, OMG, looked & sounded particularly fantastic. Was practically in tears when he did ICTYW....
Place was packed to the max, Was in 2nd row, first tier on Joe's side...Really good seat!!
Had such a great time.
Got to see Zelda, GA, Dreamer, Desperado after the show!!
so great to see you guys.:grouphug:
Now I wanna go MON night!

Re: Madison Square Garden NYC - Nov. 9th
Amazing show! It's sometimes easy to take for granted how good our guys are, but last night it really hit me once again just how spectacular they are. Maybe because I won't see them again until January but NKIT had me all teary eyed again.

VA; I never take it for granted...They deliver every time!
Why didn't I see you??? Thought I would see you at Mustang Harry's after show??
Yes, I was teary eyed too. I don't know if I will get to another show. I'm trying darn hard to win that radio contest to see them in England...LOL

Re: Madison Square Garden NYC - Nov. 9th
GREAT SHOW! Even better than Bethel Woods. Like a fine wine, this tour has aged with time!
Had tears in my eyes during "Desperado", so emotional, so beautiful,
also sad knowing the show was over (literally, the night went in a blink of an eye)
It was great to meet some fellow border members at Mustang Harry's after the show. only sorry that I couldn't hang out a bit longer than I did! Thanks again to Kay for putting it together, great choice of restaurant!

Saw the show on 11-9-13 at MSG- had great seats- 3rd row center.
Here are a bunch of pix I have not had a chance to sort through them but there are some shots I think you may like. Could not video. I tries and was asked to stop so I just played it safe. I hope you enjoy them. Here is the link to my "photobucke5

Re: Madison Square Garden NYC - Nov. 9th
well that was my first ever EAGLES show and boy did they deliver! They sure do know how to put on a crowd pleasing show :):grooving:
I am so happy I finally got to see them! :yay:
My seats were pretty good in the 101 section, but still too far to see details without the assistance of binoculars. So I'm glad I had a pair so I could see all the little smirks and nods that aren't broadcasted on the screen :) The guys are so cute and looked fantastic! I love their charisma and charm.
my boyfriend said I was like a little girl at a Beatles show haha (I don't remember being quite like that, but I did my fair share of screaming and woooo-ing :) :partytime:
I've been quite sick with a cold all week (busy & working through it all so not getting better before the show), my back has been giving me troubles, and I had to pee through most of the show, but didn't want to leave for too long during intermission for fear of missing even one second. But the show was so AMAZING that it made me forget all my pain and troubles! I had a HUGE SMILE on my face the entire time and sang along to every song. It was over way too fast.
I avoided all History of the Eagles concert reviews and setlists beforehand because I wanted this to be a complete surprise, but my boyfriend looked at the setlist so he knew what the last song was going to be...so I was like that's not REALLY that last song is it?? :( there's surely a THIRD ENCORE? haha Whatever happened to Saturday night?!
I wonder what the boys are doing with their day off in NYC today...
ps. I wish I could've made it out afterwards to meet everyone, but I didn't read about the RSVP for Harry's until it was too late, and as I said I'm also pretty sick :( hope y'all had a blast :D
though I did get to say hello to desperado (Madelyn) because she was in the row in front of mine :)

Re: Madison Square Garden NYC - Nov. 9th
I also really liked the reworking of Witchy Woman...they should record it like that so I can hear it again :)
for those of you who were at both shows, I was wondering if their jokes and banter are the same or did it change?
I noticed in the friday night thread that Glenn mentioned living in NY for the last year (news to me...would love to bump into him!) which he didn't mention last night...so obviously some things were different...
any other notable differences and/or memorable banter?

Yes. There were 2 shirts specific to the MSG shows. One is blue with the skull and Eagles logo on the front with a cool back with the Empire State Building and the dates. The other one is black with the word Eagles on the front with the city superimposed over it and the dates on the back. When I have a chance I will take pics and post them.

Re: Madison Square Garden NYC - Nov. 9th
Thanks WF! now I can listen to that version of Witchy Woman again! :)
do those videos get taken down? aren't they violating Eagles' policy?
I took a few short videos but wasn't sure I was allowed to post them.

Re: Madison Square Garden NYC - Nov. 9th
Thanks for filling us in everyone! Sounds like another wonderful Eagle night was had by all!
So glad for you that got to meet! Makes it all the more fun!

Re: Madison Square Garden NYC - Nov. 9th
I didn't take many pictures because I didn't think they were coming out very well and since i was so far, my camera had to go into digital zoom making it difficult to get a clear photo. I wanted to simply enjoy the show.
All things considered, though they aren't great photos, I don't think they're too bad either!

Hi GAN- I was wearing a "Boston Strong" shirt. I think I remember you. Did we meet each other at intermission, when I was returning to my seat?
-
Re: Madison Square Garden NYC - Nov. 9th
Hi, Steve! I think I remember seeing you! I was in the front row between Glenn and Joe, with long blond hair and a white and black top.

Re: Madison Square Garden NYC - Nov. 9th
Thanks for the photos and comments, guys!
Boston Steve - WOW. Nice!

Re: Madison Square Garden NYC - Nov. 9th
I'll just add things as I think of them! Here's one thing I noticed, and someone said they'd noticed this at other concerts... I think it's a bit weird, but during the intermission, the stage floor gets 'Swiffered' by two or three people.

Re: Madison Square Garden NYC - Nov. 9th
How wonderful to have special shirts commemorating a special night!
-
Re: Madison Square Garden NYC - Nov. 9th
I don't remember seeing those at the merch stand for VIP people to shop at, I might have gotten one!
I want to say that during this show, Joe was particularly 'on' for HC. I was surprised there was no smoke coming off his guitar. He really lit the place up with it. It was incredible to hear, and even watch considering I was about ten feet from him. He seemed pretty pleased with himself at the end of it, too, which was cute to watch. Me, I think my mouth was hanging open in awe.

I agree Joe was ON FIRE on Hotel California on Sat night!! :inlove::headbang::guitar::guitar:

Re: Madison Square Garden NYC - Nov. 9th
Funny that they Swiffer the stage floor during intermission. I guess they want to make sure that the sweat pouring off of those hot bodies doesn't make anyone slip and fall.
It's great to hear that Joe's guitar was smokin' during HC! I always think of his quote, wherever it was I heard it, where he says, "I can play it good and I can play it not-so-good...but I like to play it good."

Read a tweet that Christie Brinkley and her daughter were in the front row for this show. I can't believe I'd miss such a thing, but I apparently did.
