Chicago
I looked back 10 pages and didn't see a Chicago thread. Forgive me and merge if I missed it.
Before I got so into Eagles, Chicago was my band. We have seen them in concert 8 times and decided not to go in April when they were an hour away because we were hoping the Eagles would come close.
I love their horn section and Jimmy Pankow is one of the best instrumental arranger there is.
Do you guys like them?
I do not know why they are not in the Rock Hall of Fame. They should be.

Re: Chicago
Yes, they should be!
I had a bit of a crush on Peter Cetera for a while. I was lucky enough to see them live at the Capital Centre back in 1984 or so. Third row on the aisle. They had a comedian as the warm up act, which was different.

Re: Chicago
LOVE Chicago !!
Their ballads are some of the most beautifully written songs ever.

Re: Chicago
they have an amazing catalog.
I don't know why they aren't in the Hall of Fame
I could listen to them for hours and used to until the Eagles took over.
I have every album they made
They put on an awesome show. Saw them once with Earth Wind and Fire and that was an awesome show. I love harmony and horns.
If I could only listen to two groups it would be Eagles and Chicago

Re: Chicago
I've always like them too. I had several of their vinyl albums back in the 70's, but have never replaced them. I hear them a lot on the radio though.

Re: Chicago
oh I loved Chicago...had all their albums at one point..and saw them live several times...I remember when Terry Kath accidentally shot himself...so sad...

Re: Chicago
I saw them when I was 13 years old.
I love their music
I too have seen them with earth wind and fire ...great show..we had 4th row seats right in front of Phillip Bailey on the isle.
Yes, I cried my eyes out when Teerry Kath passed away..such a sad loss and a waste .
Great group ..they have had a lot of changes too

Re: Chicago
Awesome band. I have "inherited" most of their vinyl (original copies) from my brother in law. Most of them also have their posters, sleeves, etc all in great condition.
When we went down to our sons college graduation a month ago, we hadn't been to his new apartment yet or met his new roommate. The roommate is a big vinyl fan also and there were posters of Chicago all over the walls, many of which I recognized from the albums. I was pretty impressed at that from a young man in his mid 20s.

Re: Chicago
I love Chicago and know their studio albums from CTA to XIV inside out. I don't hate the Foster era and things that came after that, but I've just never really sat down and listened to it.
Robert Lamm is one of my favourite singers ever. What a voice! Even when he sings with a soft voice, there's this edge. He never sounds wimpy.
