Re: Top 10 Favourite Singers
No, sadly The Wallflowers broke up a couple of years ago. It sticks in my mind because they played a venue near here on their last tour, but I couldn't go because my family was on the way back from Florida that day. I remember thinking, "Oh well, I'll catch them next time" and was heartbroken when they broke up shortly after.
Re: Top 10 Favourite Singers
I went back to find my list out of curiosity. I'd say for the most part, it's still very close to the same other than I'd probably toss Axl down to the honorable mention (mainly because he just continues to p*ss me off) and replace him with Don Henley and have to add at least a dozen new names to the honorable mentions because I don't know why I only listed 2 of them. I mean where is Paul Rodgers, Sammy Hagar, Elton John, Freddie Mercury, Mick Jagger, Steve Winwood, and my new found obsession, Chris Rea, etc....?

Re: Top 10 Favourite Singers
My List would look something like this:
1) Timothy B Schmit
2) Colm Wilkinson
3) Glenn Frey
4) Joan Baez
5) Bryan Adams
6) Shania Twain
7) Don Henley
8) Celine Dion
9) Eric Clapton
10) Warren Zevon
Re: Top 10 Favourite Singers
I suppose I should revise my own list.
1. Glenn Frey
2. Mark Knopfler
3. John Lennon
4. Paul McCartney
5. Robert Plant
6. Mick Jagger
7. Don Henley
8. Bob Dylan
9. Van Morrison
10. Randyy Newman
Honourable mentions to Eric Clapton, Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Neil Young, the late Warren Zevon & John Fogerty. All I've done there is change the order around.
I don't have a list of favourite female singers but they include Kate Bush, Stevie Nicks, Chrissie Hynde (more for her songwriting skills), Barbra Streisand (when she doesn't overdo it) & Annifrid Lyngstad from Abba, who in my opinion is a far superior singer to Agnetha Faltskog, but didn't sing as many songs. I love Joni Mitchell's songs but not always her singing style. Aretha Franklin goes without saying. Linda Ronstadt in my opinion never stamped her own personality on all those well known songs by other artists she covered (possible exception being the Heart Like A Wheel album). Other singers like Tina Turner & Joan Armatrading, who I saw live, I nevertheless don't count them as favourite singers.
Re: Top 10 Favourite Singers
Not much of a change here! But after they reformed in 2008 and released a new CD, I would make some inclusion for Spandau Ballet's lead singer Tony Hadley. It was amazing to see them live!
So to repost
In Order- Glenn:heart: Frey
- Chris de Burgh
- Don Henley
- Robbie Williams
- Billy Joel
- Tony Hadley
- Bryan Ferry
- Tim McGraw
- Kenny Rogers
- Elton John
I would also give honourable mention to Josh Turner who had a few good hits in the last few years.
Of course these can change depending on the mood I'm in! Although the top man never will! :inlove:
Re: Top 10 Favourite Singers
I don't know how I left out either Elton John or Bryan Ferry. :fear: Love Billy Joel but not his singing voice so much (though I once saw a version of Goodnight Saigon which was vocally superb).
Re: Top 10 Favourite Singers
I was going to post and ask you how you left out Elton FP but I got distracted and forgot. lol
