FP, I realize Glenn was already a big star when Bob Seger wrote and recorded the song. However, what I was alluding to is that he had achieved superstardom at the time, but still not the iconic, legendary status that he has now. Although, I didn't state it very clearly, that was precisely my point. Glenn and the Eagles had achieved unimaginable success after Hotel California. I'm sure at the time, they thought they had reached their pinnacle. However, even at that, I don't think anyone could have predicted the enduring impact of their music, and that they would still be one of the biggest, most successful bands in the world 30 years later.Quote:

Dreamer, that is so true about Glenn's (and the others') iconic status thirty years on. And to think that until my 'rebirth' two years ago I didn't even know the Eagles were still around, and now look at them, set to release a new album, looking as fit and in as good a voice as ever.
This is brilliant, thank you Soda! :D :D I always loved that song but had no clue it's about Glenn.
Finally, I had a moment to watch this!
All I can say is WOW! Great job Soda! :applause:
I didn't know that song was about Glenn either!
I love Bob, too. So many of his songs just get me. Against the Wind and Like a Rock are two of my favorites. I'd love to see him in concert.
Don't worry, EF and Brooke - I had no idea the song was about Glenn  either when I watched Soda's slideshow. I was pleasantly surprised when Dreamer mentioned it in her post - I just thought Soda picked a particularly appropriate song by a particularly appropriate artist (but I've said that already, haven't I?).
I didn't know that song was about Glenn either. Loved teh slide show!
OK, I did another of Glenn, just from the 70s set to "Help Me" by Joni Mitchell which she wrote about him. The reason I just did the 70s, even though it was not his hottest era, was that it seemed more appropriate to the song to stay limited to the wild days. ;)
Help Me!
Ooooooh Soda, That is Gorgeous!
Help me! :help: I'm in love :inlove:
I've downloaded your latest slideshow, Soda! I haven't watched it in its entirety yet (slow YouTube and stop-starts  ), but at first glance it looked great! :D Well done!! :applause: I don't know this song (I don't know much about Joni Mitchell), so thanks for adding to my musical knowledge, as well as posting this link!
GA, I'm also in love... :inlove: :fainted:
