Celebration of "Eagles Live" Album
Today is the 29th anniversary of the "Eagles Live" album. While this album didn't contain any new material, I think it is still a great, entertaining live album. I actually listen to it quite a bit. I especially love the versions of Take It Easy, Take It To the Limit, and Life's Been Good. I have to run some errands this afternoon, so this will be the featured album of the day in my car. I may have some other thoughts after I listen to it, but I wanted to go ahead and start this thread. So for now ...
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY "EAGLES LIVE"!!!
Re: Happy Anniversary "Eagles Live"
Well, we did get one new track kinda - the magnificent "Seven Bridges Road." LOVE that song! It was also cool to hear Joe's "All Night Long" done with the Eagles. So glad they managed to squeeze a live album out of these guys before they imploded back in 1980!
Re: Happy Anniversary "Eagles Live"
Happy Anniversary, Eagles Live! Aah, Seven Bridges Road. For purely gratuitous purposes...

Soda, your sig is adorable. Wish I could come with you!
Re: Happy Anniversary "Eagles Live"
OMG, troub - I'm so glad that you thought about posting that picture - it is way too cute. And, of course, how could I totally leave off Seven Bridges Road in my first post, which is perhaps my very favorite song on the whole album since it is "kinda new" like Soda said. In my first post, when I said there were no new tracks on the album, I meant no new original songs. As Soda said, although 7BR and All Night Long had not appeared on a previous Eagles album, the band had been performing them in their live shows for some time.
Like Soda, I am also very thankful that this was done before the 'implosion'. I think it is a great live album and I love hearing the intros to the songs. They sound like mere babes.
Re: Happy Anniversary "Eagles Live"
I will probably get back to this thread and THE HFO one but for now, when I saw this thread's title, the first thing I thought of was
SEVEN BRIDGES ROAD
Re: Celebration of "Eagles Live" Album
On this day in 1980, the Eagles released their Eagles Live album. I think this is a great live album and I listen to it often in my car. In recognition of its 30th anniversary, I thought I'd post these pictures of the cover art and poster ...

HAPPY 30TH ANNIVERSARY EAGLES LIVE!!!
Re: Celebration of "Eagles Live" Album
Look at that audience in the cover art poster! Surely that must have been a festival of some sort rather than a regular concert, but oh my gosh, to play in front of that many people must have been staggering and so gratifying for the guys.
Seven Bridges Road makes this album. I'm so glad they included it, even if Glenn did resist record label pressure to put a new original song on it because by then he was pretty much done with the Eagles (which of course would consequently render the Eagles done, period).
In fact, for a long time, this album was pretty much a true "Farewell" - until of course the day that we celebrate tomorrow - the release of Hell Freezes Over. Pretty cool irony, eh, that Hell Freezes Over was released 14 years and one day after the release of Eagles Live?
Here's to the Live Album turning 30!!!!
Re: Celebration of "Eagles Live" Album
This album is one of my very favorites. I've played guitar along with the album playing and listened to it more times than I could count. It's one that I played nonstop when learning to play.
Happy Anniversary EAGLES LIVE indeed!
Re: Celebration of "Eagles Live" Album
This is one of those recordings that I've had as an LP, a tape and now CD. Never get tired of it. Played my original record until i had to tape a quarter to the arm because it skipped so bad. Luved it long time, baby!!!!
Re: Celebration of "Eagles Live" Album
Happy 30. Anniversary EAGLES LIVE!
