Re: Meisner Mania: The Randy Meisner Photo Thread
I have an article that uses the photo too. It's from early 1986 and it references that Blondie Chaplin would be joining them on tour; however it was before Bernie Leadon joined their ranks.
I'm trying to think of a way to share the article without violating community standards regarding copyrighted articles. If I knew the newspaper that it was originally published in, perhaps I could link to that. The author is David Surkamp.
Re: Meisner Mania: The Randy Meisner Photo Thread
Way OT: turns out David Surkamp is a musician himself; he founded what some consider the first prog band Pavlov's Dog. He says he got sick of playing for awhile and became a music journalist for about 10 years. He mainly wrote for the St. Louis Chronicle.

Congratulations, Delilah! Thank you for all the amazing contributions you've made to Meis scholarship. :)

Thanks, NMB!
Speaking of the Meis, here are a couple of links to new-to-me pics. They were taken of him performing at the Bottom Line—could this be the incident where he got upset and walked off stage?

They're new to me as well! I especially like the one that's most close-up.
Re: Meisner Mania: The Randy Meisner Photo Thread
They've been around for a year or so, but it's very nice to have the photographer's name and even the agency that he worked for!
It goes without saying that the date is 10 years off, so I won't mention it :)
But what about those holographic Eagles pins for sale!! Never seen those. [heads over to Ebay]
Re: Meisner Mania: The Randy Meisner Photo Thread
LOL I actually didn’t pay much attention to the date, just the venue. He looks so sweet in his sweater and plaid shirt that it doesn’t jive with his storming off the stage that night. That’s why I was wondering about it.
According to this reference he played there March 11-12, 1981.

Also this Billboard article refers to the incident and credit is given to Randy for the creation of a new record company involving pop artist/songwriter Desmond Childs.
Quote:
The Deston story goes back to 1980, when Childs and Simone first crossed paths. “We owe it all to [former Eagle] Randy Meisner,” Simone recalls. “We were part of the crowd that came to see [Meisner] at the Bottom Line, but he got mad and walked offstage. So we ended up at a bar around the corner, where Desmond’s publisher introduced me to him. I was a [Desmond Child And] Rouge fan, and Desmond was very much a recording artist then.”
