Farewell I Survivor begins Tuesday, March 31
Okay folks - it's time to dust off your copy of Farewell I and pop it in the DVD (or Blu Ray) player. The DVD will celebrate its 15th anniversary this year and we are going to celebrate by playing a Farewell I Survivor game beginning one week from tonight.
Just like we do for all DVD Survivor games, we'll be judging each performance rather than the song itself.
This is going to be a little different. Due to the fact that there are so many performances, the first 10 rounds will be double eliminations - two songs will go per round. Then, when we get down to 10 performances, we will switch over to single elimination. But, don't worry about remembering all of this now because I'll post reminders throughout the game.
To refresh your memory, here is the setlist:
The Long Run
New Kid in Town
Wasted Time
Peaceful Easy Feeling
I Can't Tell You Why
One of These Nights
One Day at a Time
Lyin' Eyes
The Boys of Summer
In the City
Already Gone
Silent Spring
Tequila Sunrise
Love Will Keep Us Alive
No More Cloudy Days
Hole in the World
Take It to the Limit
You Belong to the City
Walk Away
Sunset Grill
Life's Been Good
Dirty Laundry
Funk #49
Heartache Tonight
Life in the Fast Lane
Hotel California
Rocky Mountain Way
All She Wants to Do Is Dance
Take It Easy
Desperado
This should be exciting - and we hope you join in!

Dreamer thanks for doing this, it sounds like fun. It will be interesting to see which songs will be in the final.

Yes, thank you. I always enjoy it! It's good to have a little fun these days!

Yes, this will be a wonderful thing to do while everyone's (hopefully) cooped up at home.
I will be watching F1 here this weekend probably. I do love it, far more than HFO (sorry HFO lovers!).
Thanks Dreamer!
Re: Farewell I Survivor begins Tuesday, March 31
You’re welcome! I’m happy to facilitate such an important public service.  But, seriously folks, I do hope it will provide everyone with another diversion during these strange times. Hopefully, you all will find the game interesting and fun, especially since it should be a lot more unpredictable than some of the other games.
One thing that I forgot to clarify in my opening post is that during the double-elimination rounds, each player will also cast votes for two performances. Other than just mixing it up a bit, hopefully, this will also reduce the odds of ties. So, for those of you who are planners, this is something to factor into your strategy.
