Re: Underrated Eagles Song Survivor
I'll do this in order of my preference for the songs:
Some of the band’s better songs that don’t get the respect they deserve
1. Long Road Out Of Eden
2. Good Day In Hell
3. Pretty Maids All In A Row
4. Do Something
5. The Sad Café
6. Too Many Hands
7. Doolin-Dalton/Desperado Reprise
Really good songs that get the appropriate level of respect they deserve
8. Ol '55
9. James Dean
10. Those Shoes
11. The Last Resort
12. My Man
13. Bitter Creek
Some of the band’s weaker songs therefore they aren’t underrated
13. Bitter Creek
14. Most of Us Are Sad
15. After The Thrill Is Gone
I am possibly too harsh on BC but to me it's not a 'really good' song.

Re: Underrated Eagles Song Survivor
Congratulations to Doolin-Dalton/Desperado Reprise, a most worthy winner, finally getting some love and respect as a great and underrated song!
Ok, I've compiled my own overall ranking list, but I've changed the categoriesDreamer set-up to fit my own impressions. In addition, I've added some other songs that were not in the game that I think are also underrated (I've only numbered the ones that were in the game though, to avoid confusion). Note, also, that this ranking does not necessarily indicate my order of preference for the songs, just degree of underratedness (for example, I love The Last Resort, Pretty Maids, and ATTIG, but just don't think they are really underrated).
Great songs (among the band's best) that don’t get the recognition, respect, or appreciation they deserve (most underrated)
1. Doolin-Dalton/Desperado Reprise
2. Bitter Creek
Train Leaves Here This Morning
3. Good Day In Hell
Twenty-One
Certain Kind of Fool
Really good songs that don't get the level of recognition, respect, or appreciation they deserve (underrated)
Journey of the Sorcerer
4. My Man
5. Ol’ 55
6. Those Shoes
7. James Dean
8. The Sad Café
9. Do Something
Tryin'
Nightingale
10. Too Many Hands
Great songs that are appropriately highly respected and appreciated (thus not underrated)
11. Long Road Out of Eden
12. Pretty Maids All in a Row
13. The Last Resort
14. After the Thrill is Gone
Weaker songs therefore not underrated
15. Most of Us Are Sad

Very interesting, I've always been a dreamer.
Maybe the Eagles should re-awaken a few more obscurities the next time they tour.

I love that line too JCL, and the little instrumental passage that follows it. I like the idea of adopting it as a rousing encore. Desperado's pretty great but it's very much a a Henley showcase. The reprise sounds an ideal way to end an Eagles concert.
Reading through the last bunch of posts, It looks like the most unpopular Eagles track is Most Of Us Are Sad. The track I believe, that won over Glynn Johns, after he initially rejected the Eagles request to produce them. As such, it has a strong case for being included in a History Of The Eagles live set list.
Other notable omissions, besides the whole of the Long Road Out Of Eden album, particularly Grammy winning instrumental, I Dreamed There Was No More War, are;
Good Day In Hell, the track that launched the Felder era Eagles, which could also explain why it was overlooked.
Get Over It, the first song Glenn and Don wrote together after the 14 year break.
Hole In The World, so ignored it didn't even make the Underrated Song Survivor starting line but the song that really launched a new era for the Eagles.
The History Of The Eagles set list is their first one to include every Eagles hit. No Omissions. So it could have been labelled an "All The Hits" tour. The more obscure stuff like, Saturday Night, Those Shoes and Doolin-Dalton / Desperado Reprise seems to have been a welcome bonus.

I'm sorry but I made it clear during the game that I don't like ATTIG very much. I have to be honest.
Re: Underrated Eagles Song Survivor
Well-deserved, if you ask me! Congrats to DD-DR!
Re: Underrated Eagles Song Survivor
Out of interest, if the last two songs standing had been ' Doolin-Dalton/Desperado Reprise' and 'Good day in hell' would anyone have changed their vote to GDIH?
Question applies equally to those who voted for 'The sad cafe', as well as those who voted for DD-DR.
Re: Underrated Eagles Song Survivor
I would have voted for GDIH! Love them both, but love the rockin' GDIH most!
Re: Underrated Eagles Song Survivor
I was always going to vote for GDIH.
