Found this the other day! 1983, The Civic Arena, Pittsburgh, Pa!
For me, TP symbolized what our entire generation was about-You Don't Have to Live Like A Refugee still makes me raise a fist to equality! American Girl except for lovin' Elvis-for me it was Ricky Nelson but other than that-was me, "raised on promises." I was lucky enough to be one of only 500 people, along with Laura Dern and Fritz Coleman, to catch the reunion of Mudcrutch, in Malibu right after seeing Glenn and his son rock the night before at the Roxy.
Anyway forgive the sophomoric review, to quote Dylan: "I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now!" Rock-the-Roll!
Stay Tuned!

Carol C, how lucky indeed that you got to see Mudcrutch (not to mention Glenn and Deacon the night before)!
I was at the store earlier today and I saw the Rolling Stone Special Edition with Tom on the cover. I almost bought it but I try to avoid impulse purchases. I may end up getting it anyway.
Here’s a touching song tribute by Petty’s former bandmate, Tom Leadon.

I just saw it trending on FB that Tom Petty died from an accidental overdose of pain medication prescribed for numerous aliments including a broken hip. RIp Tom
Oh my gosh. What a freaking shame. So many people die needlessly this way! Awful!
Good lord, a fractured hip hurts like hell and I can not imagine dealing with such excrutiating pain while performing on tour. He had trouble with his knees as well, and was suffering from emphysema. RIP Tom - you gave your music and fans everything you had and are dearly missed.
Condolences to his family, many friends, collaborators and fans.

That's just so sad. :(
