Oh gosh, I'm so glad I decided to do that LA trip with you and FP! What fun we had!
I wonder when he'll do more solo shows... even just a standalone gig in Niagara Falls or a casino... I'll take what I can get.

Happy birthday to a fantastic album! I love this album and listen to it often. I didn't get a chance to today, but I'll most likely listen to it tomorrow afternoon. I usually do on Friday afternoons to help try to put the week behind me.
I love it with a passion too, FP! I usually listen to at least one song from it every day and usually more than one. I have been so busy I didn't even realize it was May 8th & I haven't listened to it today. As I often listen when I go to bed, I must turn in & listen while it is still the 8th. It's 11:00PM here.
BTW, my favourite is "After Hours" probably followed by "Here's To Life". The high note on the first "to dreamers & their dreams" still sends thrills down my spine. Like GA, it depends on my mood as to the order in which I rate the others songs.
I think my second favorite is "The Shadow of Your Smile." When he sings, "A teardrop kissed your lips... and so did I" I just MELT!
I envy you. I haven't listened that album. Only a little part of "after hour" song. The voice of Glenn seems deeper to me and it's really good!. I'll try to get it on Amazon. Happy Birthaty!!!!
I could write about this album all day. I know a lot of people wish he had done original material or not gone down this path but I love to hear him sing like this (and perform like this). I could listen to the end of I Wanna Be Around forever. The song is a slow burn & then you get that devastating payoff at the end. As for Same Girl in my view it ranks with the finest vocals he has ever done. I was so glad I was able to communicate to him that I love Randy Newman's work too.
My only criticism of it is that some of the lyrics are somewhat dated. This is true for My Buddy & I'm Getting Old Before My Time; but they are old songs. It was a brave move for him not to choose more well known songs from this era.
The parts of it when you can hear him taking breaths between notes... SIGH.:thud::inlove:
Every time I listen to any part of the album i think to myself how beautiful his voice is singing these songs! :sigh:
Happy Anniversary After Hours!
Not my kind of music but I appreciate it and am glad he released it.
I'm a little late here, but I want to add my sentiments here ...
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY AFTER HOURS!!!
I had The Confessor in my car CD player earlier in the week celebrating its anniversary, but have now switched to After Hours for the last several days. I've been having fun reminiscing about the East Coat After Hours road trip that several of us Borderers took around this time two years ago. What a fun time that was!!! :partytime:
