WOW, what a great picture !
All of them are great pictures - thank you everyone ! That picture of Glenn with Deacon is so cute.
Question - Is that a stereo on the far right in the book cases?

It won't let me zoom in close enough to tell, but it looks like it to me. My receiver is larger (and no doubt older) than that.
Maybe he listened to tracks he had started working on, and continued writing them there on the piano. (My vivid imagination!) Of course, he had a studio next door. But maybe with a burst of inspiration, he could have written songs right there. It's both cool and sad to think of it.
It is, isn't it? But he did say he would often write songs using the piano.
Yeah, almost certainly a stereo. Looks like a double cassette player on top, which makes sense, if you're doing a little recording. Also, if you look on the top shelf on either side, there are speakers, which were probably wired to that stereo.
Since Glenn had formal piano lessons for several years, he could read music, which made him a rare bird in the music industry. Even Paul McCartney can't read music!!! So it doesn't surprise me that he composed a lot on the piano. That would be a natural choice for someone who started on the piano and still did a fair bit of keyboard work.
Oh Pippin - Good eyes - I did not notice the speakers ! Not like they weren't big enough - lol !
Yeah, he took piano lessons from age 5 to 12 or 13. I read in numerous interviews he stated he composed songs on the piano. Like you said, makes sense with all the classical training he had. I remembering laughing when I heard the story from his brother Alan(In those interviews) about their Mom sitting with Glenn in their basement to make sure he did his piano lessons.
If i remembered in the music video, Sexy Girl he had sheet music in front of him and writing on it. I could be wrong.
You are correct, Shun! He has blank staff pages on the top of the piano.
@NKIT -- I am not one bit surprised that Mrs. Frey had to sit with Glenn to make sure he practiced, especially later on, when he got the guitar bug. But the lessons paid off! I've mentioned it before, but I love watching him play keyboards. He has this light touch that's mesmerizing.
I had noticed the stereo and speakers at the same time I saw the AMAs. And, ask and ye shall receive - some of Soda's screen caps from the Sexy Girl video showing the sheet paper (and, of course, the obligatory sunglasses and long neck(s) ) ...
