Totally agree NMB and it's one of my favorites of him!!! :D
I totally agree Soda and FP. What a wonderful week that was. Just this time 5 years ago today I was arriving home still on a high and reliving so many memories - 'I hear ya knockin' was still going around in my head as I reported for work!!' Bittersweet now indeed, but I ma so glad I took this opportunity and others that presented themselves later to see Glenn  live
So glad I went to these shows. I'll always treasure the memories of this trip - seeing Glenn & meeting those Borderers who were there. GA, I'll always remember Glenn reading your sign & saying "Iceland" instead of "Ireland". So cool that he read it to the audience.
The tears are welling up in my eyes as I type this.
I'm a little late here, but thanks from me, too, Julie for the picture to commemorate the 5 year anniversary of these Niagara Falls shows. It was a very special trip indeed and the first time many of us had met. What a wonderful time and such great memories. :grouphug:
It was my pleasure, everyone. That photo means a great deal to me. I don't think I'm overstating or being full of myself when I say I see it as one of the 'iconic' Border photos.
I got lucky the second night when we actually managed to rush the stage!

The whole thing is such a damn shame. I juist didn't want to post anything in the Reminsicing thread but if anyone is interested here are the topics about these shows:

I even quoted Sledgehammer in my post in the second thread. 'This is the new stuff' I said. None of that can be taken from us who were lucky enough to be there.

Some more old ones I came across..
and this is the last bunch
Great pics! Thanks Fp and mimi!
One thing I derived from the old ones-Glenn liked beer!
Can't imagine how you figured that out, Brooke!
Have you all seen these photos from an Eagles concert in Amsterdam? http://www.popstockphoto.com/eagles/
They're new to me. The web site says 1973, but when you save a photo the URL says '74. And I swear I see Don Felder in one photo.
Isn't that first photo on the left sweet? The little blond boy is Randy's eldest son, and at least one of the girls is his niece.
In the last photo, on the left is MTV veejay (before the channel was invented, obviously) Mark Goodman. I think that was his name. It's been a long time.
NMB, I haven't seen most of them before, but the photo with Don Felder is definitely a different vintage than the others. The photo of them sitting on stools is from Pop Gala which is from Voorburg, Netherlands 1973. There is video of this concert. It looks to me that the other pics are likely from the same tour.
ETA:This is a video showing different artists that performed on Pop Gala. The Eagles are singing Take It Easy. It's the only one I could find on YouTube. https://youtu.be/d-b128dVSx4
Wow, so Popgala was one ginormous concert, interesting. Thank you for that clip.
Hey, does anyone here speak Dutch? I wonder what the commentators/interview subjects were saying about them.
OT: I wish we had more information about the Eagles' European tours, they don't seem to be very well documented - there are even gaps in their American touring information, which is rare (in my experience) for a band of the Eagles' stature.
That was funny. I was wondering why they kept interviewing these old guys rather than the younger fans. It was only when they were shown using a laptop that I realised that the interviews were done recently and these old men actually were young men in 1973. I think one of them was a photographer and they highlighted part of the footage to show a young man with a camera.
Here's a few screencaps from a show in January 1995.

There's a sequence where Glenn seems to be mugging for Don Felder but Don keeps looking down, smiling, with eyes almost shut.

They're from this clip.
..beautiful....thank you!
Thank you for the clip and the pics
Oh my my, the eyes in the first one: well mesmer eye zing. Thanks again. Will miss him forever.
He certainly was looking good that day, and having a good hair day, too. I suppose I shouldn't waste these.

With his eyes wide and mouth open, he reminds me a little of Mel Gibson.
Thanks so much UTW for the pics/vid!!! :inlove:
I had been thinking that Mel Gibson association thing too! Glenn did sort of resemble him in the 80's and 90's, but I could never figure out the actor who I was thinking of. Duh. Wasn't Mel Gibson in the movie Tequila Sunrise with Michelle Pfeiffer? Thanks for jogging my memory!
"A rare circa-1982 photograph shows Glenn being presented an early Palathetic pickup model PT-015-ST by Takamine’s now legendary leader and master luthier, Mass Hirade."

Awesome screen caps - and I've never seen that 1982 photo before. Wow!
I just want to say that I love this one:

That guy looks familiar. Is it Delbert McClinton? Gosh, I haven't thought of that name in years.
I was thinking the same thing. The other guy looks like Delbert McClinton.
Shun, you're too young to remember Delbert, surely! You look like a kid.
OT: Do you like the Band Perry? I just learned yesterday they are from Jackson, MS. Their bass player is a doll - he reminds me a little of Randy Meisner.
I maybe young, but I listen to a lot of music way before my time. You'll be surprised what musicians I know.
Delbert did a cover of Come Together for the Beatles tribute album that came out right around the same time as Common Thread. So that's how I know him.
Country music was doing a lot of tribute albums for different people between '93 and '95.
I'm not really a fan of today's country. I just don't like it. They all sound the same, but I know of Band Perry since they are from MS.
I like Lady Antebellum, they're wonderful songwriters. It's rare that a current group, of any genre, has such a fine melodic sense, IMO.
Back on topic: Glenn looks soooo wasted, one can get a contact high from merely looking at the photo :)
I like the pic too!!! :D It's probably like NMB said but he looks really happy. LOL
NMB: I love The Band Perry and saw them in concert a couple years ago!!! :D It was awesome too as the brothers actually sang lead a few times during the show, which I keep hoping they will on the albums. I can see what you mean about him looking like Randy. Love Lady Antebellum too.
It is indeed Delbert McClintock, not that I'd ever heard of him! However, I liked what I found on youtube. Apparantly at "The Savoy", thought in which city or even country, I haven't a clue.
I like it because Glenn looks carefree and a bit wild.
I really like the first one
I really like the middle one. It's classic 70s Frey except he's laughing. I hope you don't mind me reposting so that it's bigger, if blurry.
