Re: Glenn Frey Statue Unveiled at Standin' on the Corner Festival in Winslow, AZ- Sep
I like that it doesn't look exactly like Glenn - that would be too disturbing.
The man in the sculpture looks older and has a fuller face than Glenn did when he had long hair. However, I assume the pictures are of the clay model and in bronze it will reflect light in different ways and could look quite different. There's a good sense of movement in the t-shirt and arms. Jeans and cowboy boots to come?

I was thinking that his face was too full as well.

It's a resemblance, but I would have thought they could have done better.

Here is a pic of the full length of the nearly completed statue. (They're still working on the hands.)

I don't see what would be disturbing about sculpting a statue that resembles the person being honoured.

I was afraid of that. Photobucket on my iPad wouldn't let me copy the usual link to post the picture. I'll try tomorrow on my laptop, unless someone else is able to post the pic before I get a chance.

I agree. I think that it should be a good likeness. I know that right now it could be disturbing to look at a statue of Glenn that really resembles him as his death is still very painfull to a lot of us & we know that it is being dedicated is because of his passing.
