Yes - it's definitely about Lindsey. She's said so explicitly more than once. And when she sings it to him during a concert, it's INTENSE.
I love that version of the song. I wish that there was video of it. Silver Springs is easily in my top 10 Fleetwood Mac songs.
SAR, have you seen the 2 live video versions of the song?

Intensity, indeed.I've nearly worn out my DVD copy of The Dance. It was my favorite live DVD of any band until I discovered a certain band's Farewell One DVD.
Rumours is my favorite album of all time, and my only beef with it is that Silver Springs isn't on there.(dang 1977 time limitations for albums) It's vastly superior to I Don't Want To Know.
Backstage on the Rumours tour, are those the videos from Japan? There's so many great behind scenes video from Fleetwood Mac!
yeah they are actually... and this is right in the middle of everyone breaking up. and now that i actually LISTENED to this song and figured it out i got kind of emotional. hits home. in that video Lindsey had his then girlfriend hanging out with them backstage and all. i really felt bad for Stevie. they were done and she had to watch this chick be all over the man she loved. intense
I was going through my Fleetwood Mac playlist on YouTube(posted several videos in the Mac thread), and I found this video of Lindsey performing my favorite solo song of his, Street of Dreams, in 1992. I really love this song because I can relate to the lyrics.https://youtu.be/ZWFrETNND9A
