  1. Re: It would have been Glenn's 71st birthday today

In all honesty, Joe's Facebook post is what reminded me today's the day! it is good to see him all of a sudden partaking in Throwback Thursday and all that - hopefully some of the images he posts of...
  2. Re: It would have been Glenn's 71st birthday today

Happy birthday Glenn. Still can't quite believe you are no longer around but I am so grateful for what you gave us over the years.
  3. Re: 2020 Rock Hall of Fame Nominees Announced

I adore Motorhead (I wish I had an umlaut key!) and Priest so I am pleased to see them nominated, get Thin Lizzy in too and I'll be a happy man.

That said, I still abhor the entire pretense. The...

    Re: Barnstorm

My favourite album of any Eagle and one of my favourite ever, alas it gets nowhere near the credit or recognition it is due. I am particularly fond of the final three tracks (I'll Tell the World,...
  5. Re: Eagles to take Hotel California on the road in 2020

It's a good job that I was sat down when I first read this thread. I didn't see this coming. Not at all. Nope. Completely out the blue. Possibly the biggest shock I've had since discovering the Pope...
  6. Re: Those Were the Days: Early Eagles Concert Remembrances

What a cracking find that is. Love little bits and pieces like that - sometimes they tell you a lot more than any interview or documentary ever can!

    Re: Celebration of Cass County

Happy birthday CC. I still remember the day this was released: time don't half go fast!

Still for me a mixed bag but there are a few blinders in there: Train in the Distance, Cost of Living,...

Re: Hearing the Eagles or solo songs unexpectedly!

In full thankfully, it's a relatively old-school rock station so there's no aversion to playing things in full - they do a lot of the longer genres (Southern, prog etc.) so there's plenty of long...

Re: Hearing the Eagles or solo songs unexpectedly!

Had Long Road Out of Eden on the radio over here the other day. Never, ever heard that before.
  11. Re: Bernie Speaks! A new interview with Mr. Leadon

Wouldn't have minded My Man on the HOTE tour, cracking song and would have broken the Don-Glenn to-and-fro as well as giving On the Border some recognition other than Already Gone and Best of My Love...

I vote for Already Gone. Unfit to be mentioned in the same class as the other three IMO.

Re: Eagles Song Survivor: All-Star Songs

    Absolutely 100% this.

In an attempt to save it I will vote for One of These Nights. Not the worst song left but it'll have to do.

Re: Eagles Song Survivor: All-Star Songs

I can split this very clearly into three songs I don't care for and five I can't put a cigarette paper between.

So, to get the ball rolling, I vote for Already Gone. Felder and Frey have a decent...
  19. Re: Coming up on September 4: Eagles All-Star Survivor

I trust Take It Easy as take it easy won twice it will have to be eliminated twice ;)

Should be a good one, an interesting concept and pleasant change from doing it album by album

    I look...

    Re: Joe in the Press/Blogs/etc.

As a general point, it is of course possible for musicians to write autobiographies and not even get in the boat, let alone rock it.

Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson released his two years...

Found it, from an interview with the Montreal Gazette during Cass County promotion. The most Don Henley comments of all time to boot.

Hasn't Henley commented on their lack of use of the 'Deadhead' line in the past?

Re: Don Felder in Europe - September 2019

I did toy with the idea of doing the London gig, I certainly could have gone had I wanted, but having seen clips of Felder's solo gigs over the last few years I decided not to for exactly the reason...
