    Re: Eagles books

It's funny...I'm in one fandom where there are literally dozens of books (Pink Floyd, and I own over twenty books on them myself) and another with very few (Yes), same as with the Eagles, and it's...

I cry every time I watch that video, they're singing to each other on that last song, as if everyone else has already gone home. There's also a segment in the documentary Songs of Innocence and...

    Re: Favorite Eagles Studio Albums

I'm fairly certain none of them cared for it, or the scene it produced, hence the parody.

    Re: Favorite Eagles Studio Albums

I like disco; like every other genre which exists it has its good and bad. But then again since I grew up loving R&B and funk it wasn't that much different to me than those other forms.

    I...

    Re: Eagles books

IMO there are only three books you really need:
    To The Limit
Eagles Taking It To The Limit
    Hotel California

The latter is more about the Avocado Mafia but it's a great read. Although another...

So true; with their ubiquitous presence on the radio, for example, they are literally the soundtrack to the lives of so many people.

You can make those kinds of things through Zazzle or Cafe Press; I've done a few fanart-related things through Zazzle.

    Re: Lost Magic

I wasn't suggesting it was entirely analogous (knowing the history of both bands as well as I do) just those type of debates are not at all uncommon in fandom, that's all.

Yeah I really want the Love 'Em and Lear 'Em shirt too; she was inspired to get me that one because she knows I love Desperado and I have a shirt from another site with the line from the Steely Dan...

Yes, that's why I chose the phrase "in most cases" because every situation is different. It's certainly obvious to most people that neither Don nor Glenn could use the brand name on their own.

    Re: Former Eagles

I think for fans questions/debates of legitimacy are different than the actual considerations. If Axl Rose can get people to see a version of Guns n'Roses with only one original member, then I think...

    Re: Former Eagles

I see this in fandom all the time - people refer to the version of Pink Floyd which existed from 1987-1995 as Faux Floyd because Roger Waters was no longer a member. Or the "No Jon, No Yes" movement...

It's interesting, in my graduating class at college (1987), all three of the Julies had the same middle name. I think it was a very popular baby name in 1965, lol.

I tend to think of Glenn as a pure singer, in that he can sing just about any style and blend into it. But it's funny, as much as he's wanted to be a rocker all these years, he sounds best on...

Re: Is your Walmart still selling The Eagles music

Yeah I have a Fry's not too far from where I work; I prefer to buy DVDs there because they have a better selection than any of the other big box stores, if I don't want to buy online, that is.
