Re: Eagles Song Survivor: Former Eagles Songs

I'm prepared to sacrifice Midnight Flyer. Just don't sneak up and eliminate Bitter Creek while I'm not looking.

    Certain Kind of Fool

I have some reservations as the lyrics sum up the whole musician as outlaws theme. However, I don't really like the lead vocals - they are a little too strained and that makes...

I'm sticking with Train Leaves Here This Morning

Please don't pile on Bitter Creek. I love it.

Re: Eagles Song Survivor: Former Eagles Songs

I'll go for Twenty-one. I like the song for its depiction of a wild, young man but I like others more.

Re: Eagles Song Survivor: Former Eagles Songs

I really like Take the Devil. It has a similar atmosphere to Witchy Woman and Randy's vocal range is impressive. I also love Bitter Creek with its sparse guitar and long outro.

    To protect these...

    Train Leaves Here This Morning

Idon't have a good reason and there were about three other songs I considered voting for.

Also, my favourite Bernie song is Bitter Creek and I hope it survives...

Re: Eagles Song Survivor: Former Eagles Songs

Looking at that list, I'm amazed by how much I like many of the songs. This game is going to get hard very soon so for this round, I'm choosing the easy option.

    I vote for Visions.

Re: (Book) Eagles: Before the Band

It appears to be available on kindle at a more reasonable price. Anyway, according to the contents pages, it's 243 pages long which includes 25 pages of bibliography (although many of those are...

    Re: Eagles' Albums Survivor

Interesting. I wonder how many voted based mostly on the title tracks (excluding Eagles, of course), especially as both "Desperado" and "One of These Nights" are on the biggest selling album in the...

Re: Pete Townshend....ouch this is bad

It doesn't seem so bad to me and his own clarification on Facebook his expressed well. Remember that interviews can be misleading with questions that provoke answers that haven't been properly...

    Re: Eagles' Albums Survivor

I'm standing on the firing line. You can see this as a tactical vote, if that makes it easier.

    I vote for Hotel California.

Yes, it has sold the most of the non-compilation albums and the title...

    Eagles Live
  19. Re: Live Peaceful Easy Feeling 1976-1980?

You could look for Springfield, MA May 14, 1975. The main guitar part must be Bernie and his B-bender but Felder was in the band by then.

    Re: Eagles' Albums Survivor

I vote for Eagles Live. Nothing new and I hate the idea that it was substantially "fixed" in the studio.
  21. Re: "Take It Easy - Live in Boston" Album?

If it's from 1982, it's a bootleg but good quality. There were actually two shows and recordings of both are out there.

    Re: Reminiscing

It's exactly six years since I saw Eagles for the first time live. Although I did manage a second show the following summer, the first was the magic one. It was only 40 years since I first wanted to...
  23. Re: My "Allnighter" vinyl store experience

My CD is likely to be a UK release and Wikipedia implies that european and asian releases have this change.
  24. Re: My "Allnighter" vinyl store experience

My Allnighter CD has "The Heat is On" instead of "Living in Darkness".

Re: Don Felder in the Press/Blogs/etc.

I'm not fluent in German but I think "hat ... gedatet" should translate to "dated" which is much less entertaining than "donated".

As for flying vs diving, I vote for both. Two sentences, one for...
