    Re: Fleetwood Mac

It's funny. I once wrote a 'story' about rock music being banned in California by a dictatorial state governor who had exiled all the musicians of the time (Eagles, Ronstadt, Zevon, Neil Young etc)....

The impression I am getting from all of this is that Fleetwood Mac fans are a lot more passionate, and a lot more steadfast in their defence of authenticity, than 'Eagles' fans who have gone along...

Not if it's not the real band. I don't understand this 'you gotta see them' attitude. I don't go & see acts I don't like or don't think are authentic. I made an exception for Queen + Adam Lambert,...

I am not turning off my ad blocker to read what Forbes has to say.

But there IS a choice. You can choose not to go. It is not compulsory to go to these shows. You can stay home & play the...

I had a similar vibe, which is why I also attempted to come to Neil's defence. Him being unknown in America doesn't negate his talent. See my post on page 125. But he certainly does not fit into...

    Money.

Not to harp on Neil Finn but he is also a rather self-effacing personality, not the larger than life image Lindsey projected. Perhaps that is another reason why they asked him; he will be...

    Re: Fleetwood Mac

I think Soda is being sarcastic in her comments about Mike Campbell. She's summarising Stevie's version of events.

Soda, I can't help but be sorry you are so dismissive of Neil Finn, of whom you...

I know what she meant, and I absolutely fail to understand it or agree with it in any way. I can't even begin to understand why continuing after a firing is 'worse' than continuing after a death. So...

Once again you say this is the 'worst' of all three situations.

We still have Lindsey Buckingham. He will presumably continue his own career. The 'Eagles' no longer have Glenn Frey, have...

    Re: Fleetwood Mac

I thought of something else. Unlike the 'Eagles' at least Fleetwood Mac could claim they have a large enough catalogue to justify dropping all Lindsey's songs. That isn't much consolation to Soda, as...

    Re: Fleetwood Mac

A bit unfair, Soda. He's a legend down here. I have no idea how he will fit in either, as per NMB's post. However I obviously take your point about the All Starr Band. I just can't see Neil singing...

Er.... Mick Fleetwood, John McVie & Christine McVie.

I mean if you are going to use that argument, the 'Eagles', with one original member left, should not be playing any tracks from before 1976...

What I meant by seeing the Eagles as they were was without them having been tarnished by the replacements.

Apologies, but the way you wrote it, implying the scenario was identical, did not suggest sarcasm.

I am sorry, but Don Felder was not with the Eagles for '40 years'. He joined in 1974. They split up in 1980. So that's six years. They reformed in 1994 & he was fired in 2001. That's seven years....

It's just 'loving you isn't the right thing to do'.

I'm not the expert but he wants out of the relationship from the very first line & that's how he states it.
