Re: Eagles Greatest Hits, Vol. 2 odd piano bit

Interesting. Is it on YouTube? I'm not even aware of this piano thing

Re: Eagles videos on YouTube or other sites

Oh, I LOVE mindless entertainment!😅 Yeah, if you watch those reaction videos for entertainment, they probably can be fun. In the times of "reality shows" one always has to be aware that everything is...

Re: Eagles videos on YouTube or other sites

I'm not convinced that these "reactions" are real and heartfelt. I feel they're just entertainment. If these people actually start listening to the music they "like" in these videos, that IS great....

Re: Eagles videos on YouTube or other sites

I have to confess that this "reaction" culture isn't my thing. 😅
  5. Re: New series of review articles of every Eagles album.

Nice to see the corrections made. I didn't read your revirws after Desperado, because it looked like the Frey guitar solos were always going to be Leadon solos. I'm glad to stand corrected now and I...

...But the riff is based on the vocal melody, of course.

    Re: Deacon's departure

I've read that funny Rebel Rebel story. But, as for the guitar part, what I've read is that Bowie came up with the first part of the riff and although he played a lot of guitar on the record that...

    Re: Deacon's departure

I know this sounds a bit weird, but is it possible that Vince doesn't want to take over classic Eagles guitar parts out of respect? Eagles has had/has great guitarists and Vince is known as a great...

    Re: Deacon's departure

I never thought they fell out, but yeah, it's hilarious that Glenn's picture comes back when Deacon joins them onstage.

    Re: Deacon's departure

Ok, just had to make sure that my opinion hasn't changed, since I did say "I guess they are the Eaglew now". They're not for me, of course.

    Re: Deacon's departure

I don't consider them the Eagles either, but I just wanted to keep my "aged well" comment separate from that. I deliberately said Don, Timothy and Joe have aged well; not "Eagles" or "they". People...

    Re: Deacon's departure

Yep, I guess they are the Eagles now. I won't go into that, just wanted to mention their looks as individuals. 😃

    Re: Deacon's departure

I have to say that Don, Timothy and Joe have aged well. They look their age, but in a good way.
  15. Re: New series of review articles of every Eagles album.

It sure would be interesting to see that interview where Joe talks about Glenn's guitar playing! The fact that you saw those guys when they were just starting is just...WOW!
  16. Re: New series of review articles of every Eagles album.

A rather meaningless detail: Glenn didn't play the keyboard part in Outlaw Man. It was played by a non-member, don't remember whi. (Jim Ed Norman?)
  17. Re: New series of review articles of every Eagles album.

Bernie tended to play the guitar parts on Randy's songs that Randy came up with when he wrote the songs. Bernie told me that on his website when he answered questions. In Tryin' it's the main rhythm...
  18. Re: New series of review articles of every Eagles album.

As for Earlybird, Glenn is doing all the electric guitar stuff including slide guitar (did them live as well), but I'm not sure who plays the acoustic rhythm guitar. I've always assumed it's Bernie.
  19. Re: New series of review articles of every Eagles album.

Actually I think it's great that you post them here, because here you will hear about possible errors.
  20. Re: New series of review articles of every Eagles album.

For some reason I missed the part where you said that you were the writer, so there were some harsh words in my second post. I edited it since I don't wish to offend you.I confess that I'm a Glenn...
  21. Re: New series of review articles of every Eagles album.

Earlybird is really a showcase for Leadon who sings lead as well as plays banjo and electric guitar.

    Glenn on electric.

"Tryin'" is another song by Meisner, who takes on lead vocals. Once...
  22. Re: New series of review articles of every Eagles album.

"Take The Devil" is a song written and sung by Meisner. Leadon's guitar solos really shine.

Umm, it's Glenn on lead guitar, isn't it?
  23. Re: For Those Saying Glenn Frey is Necessary to the Eagles; no Glenn, no legit Eagles

I love that picture of Glenn and Joe. The expression on Glenn's face is hilarious even though it's not "funny" at all!
  24. Re: For Those Saying Glenn Frey is Necessary to the Eagles; no Glenn, no legit Eagles

Yes, the band lost so much when Glenn died. Not just a singer. Like Yes lost so much more than a bass player when Chris Squire died. The difference, of course, is that we know that Squire wanted the...

    Re: Deacon's departure

Personally I believe that this is a "this day was going to come" thing and there was no drama, but who knows.
