Re: Don Felder videos on YouTube and other video sites

Definitely sings live there and without tons of autotune and other effects. That singing was nice to listen to, because it sounded so spontaneous. But he probably couldn't sing like that for a whole...

Re: Don Felder videos on YouTube and other video sites

One possibility that came to mind is that for whatever reason the "tape" didn't work and he had to sing it live. If he started to lip sync, but noticed that the "tape" wasn't playing and started...

Re: Don Felder videos on YouTube and other video sites

When was this? Don's singing is so terribly out of tune in places that it must be live. The first lines can't be heard for some reason.

Re: eagles 1980 lying eyes footage

When one guy actually warns us about a country rock video another guy is posting, the battle seems very serious indeed. 😄

Re: Bernie Speaks! A new interview with Mr. Leadon

Haha, I agree that "I like it simple" can also be an excuse when one would like to play fast, but can't. 😂 Glenn's fastest moment must be the Don't Give Up intro (if that indeed is a guitar played in...

Re: Bernie Speaks! A new interview with Mr. Leadon

When I mentioned the possibility of jealousy I didn't mean as a guitar player. I meant the situation where his old friend joined the band (as an equal partner) whereas Bernie's country thing was more...

Re: Bernie Speaks! A new interview with Mr. Leadon

You're probably right, but usually when I hear the words "fancy licks" I read it as "nice, but personally I prefer a more simple approach."

Anyway, it's been interesting to hear Bernie talk about...

Re: Bernie Speaks! A new interview with Mr. Leadon

About Felder joining the Eagles: https://youtu.be/dodvZo5yeqo

Seems a bit like, guitarwise, Bernie doesn't have as much respect for Felder in the Eagles context as he has for Glenn. Or perhaps...

Re: Bernie Speaks! A new interview with Mr. Leadon

As much as I hate this guy wanting so much to be seen and respected (I mean, how many times has his name to be said? "I'm John Beaudin" while we see it on the screen), I must say that I LOVE his...

Re: Bernie Speaks! A new interview with Mr. Leadon

Regarding "his way"...I think Bernie was talking only about his guitar parts. He said that he played them like he originally played them - that he was not going to learn to play them like Steuart...

Re: Bernie Speaks! A new interview with Mr. Leadon

Yeah, Bernie was probably fine with a bit of rock music here and there, but didn't like the idea of losing the country element.

Re: Video of try and love again

I still don't consider this the Eagles, but I must say that, to me, at least that sounds better in the Eagles context than Vince singing Glenn songs.

Re: Celebration of "The Long Run"!

I'm slightly embarrassed to say that I still LOVE Teenage Jail. A great riff and Glenn sounds kind of...."twisted" singing along with it. Spooky atmosphere. And whatever Felder may think, a FANTASTIC...

To me it looks like Deacon did the solo. Did Don play drums?
  21. Re: Eagles to take Hotel California on the road in 2020

Even if Deacon and Otis did something questionable, I don't think we could say that Glenn did something wrong as a parent. Also, I don't think we can assume that their motives must always be pure,...
  22. Re: Eagles to take Hotel California on the road in 2020

Seems to me that the only hesitation there may have been at some point was only concern for what people might think. "Oh you think this is ok? Well good, 'cause so do we actually. We weren't sure...

    Re: Don Felder Auto tune

Here he sings some wrong lyrics instead of "You should be home, but you're not", so he was definitely singing live. The lip syncing might be an age thing. Eagles melodies are not sung in a very low...

Throwing an object at Randy Meisner. What a manly thing to do. (I assume this idiot was a male. They tend to be.) Randy was a true pro to finish the song.

    Re: Don Felder Auto tune

One thing I don't get is that if Don lip syncs, why does he play HC in a lower key these days? Perhaps he sings live sometimes. That iPhone scrolling performance of The Long Run sounded live to me.
