Great review!
I'm praying for a second encore tonight, but it's not looking good. And even though they could drop ASWTDID, I'm needing to see Glenn dance! Where's he gonna dance if they drop it?
Glenn, pick another song to dance on PLEASE!

Hello Everyone!
I've been going to concerts off and on for over 30 years. But, somehow,
I never got a chance to see The Eagles. Until last Thursday night in
Nashville. Let me tell you, I'm certainly glad I finally got to see them.
What a treat it was. No ILAA tickets here. My wife and I got 9th row
floor tickets on Ebay and they were great. We were right in front of
Joe Walsh (right-center stage). The setlist was already posted here,
so I won't go over that, but there were no surprises there.
It's a little gutsy on The Eagles part to include so many new songs from
"Eden", but they were well received. But you couldn't help noticing the
difference in the crowd when the "hits" were played. They went nuts.
I was familiar with all the new stuff, especially since I've had "Eden"
playing in my car nonstop for about a month. Playing nine new songs
shows these guys are proud of their new material and want to share
that with the crowd.
I noticed the reviewer from the Nashville paper mentioned the difference
in the structure of this concert with the Springsteen show in August at
the same venue. Since I was at both shows myself, I understand what
he means since Springsteen seemed more spontaneous. But, what I felt
from this Eagles concert was a more professional, flawless execution of
their songs which made for an impressive stage presence. I thought the
sound at the Sommet Center was excellent. The Eagles have an amazing
way a replicating their sound from the recording studio to the stage.
Most bands cannot pull that off with the accuracy of The Eagles.
We got to the concert well before the doors opened so we would have
plenty of time to have our pick of T-shirts. I couldn't make up my mind,
so I bought 3 (tan, black, blue) and my wife got 2. The budget went out
the window. LOL. We got a "beverage" and headed for our seats and
waited for those lights to dim. I always get "goosebumps" when the lights
go out and you can see the shadows of the band members heading to
front stage. Then came "How Long" and "the joint was a-jumpin' ".
And now the camera fiasco. We had no problem getting through the ticket
line with our small point and shoot digital camera. And, yes, there were signs everywhere saying "no cameras or recording devices allowed".
As always. But when the show started, we noticed the camera nazi's on
the floor were all over people when they saw a camera being held up.
We tried it a couple of times anyway and were "spotlighted" TWICE by
ushers and told to put the camera away. Pissed me off. This was the third
concert we have been to at Sommet Center in the last 2 months and ushers never stopped people with cameras after the show started for
Journey/Cheap Trick or for Bruce Springsteen. So this was a bummer.
We got a few shots and I will post them when I can.
Yes, I was disappointed in the one encore instead of two. But I really
expected it, since that was what happened in the last few shows. And
I didn't get "Rocky Mountain Way". But there were so many other great
Joe Walsh moments (Life's been good, Walk Away, Funk #49, etc) that
I really didn't mind. Besides, my wife got one of her all time favorites in
"Boys of Summer" and that made her night. She loves Don Henley.
We left the building around 11:35 PM after enjoying over 3 hours of
great classic rock'n'roll from a great band and agreed we definitely got
our money's worth. And, yes, ladies and gentlemen, I would love to see
them again.
Rick
PS: Sorry about the delay in posting this. I've just been very busy since
we got back.
