Right now I'm listening to The Old 97's "Too Far To Care"... I just love Rhett Miller!

Piece Of My Heart - Janis Joplin
you better put it all behind you, baby, 'cause life goes on
you keep carrying that anger, it'll eat you up inside--
Satellite-Guster (love these guys!)
Chasing Cars-Snow Patrol-just discovered this band-love them!
Carla--I've been meaning to ask you. You come up with some very different bands that I've not heard of. I really don't listen to much new stuff myself, but I am interested in how you find these more, shall we say, obscure (I'm guessing here), bands?
He sings it high, he plays it low
TBF, some of them I have found on Amazon, when I'm just listening to some band and it recommends another band I may like. Others, I have found on my Pandora radio station. And Wilco, I found on YouTube. Also, my 24 year old son has introduced me to bands I otherwise would never have heard of. One of the joys in my life is discovering bands I have never heard of, and finding that I am falling in love with their music!
Very cool! I guess you could say I get into a rut, not that I'm complaining. I love all the music I listen to and have found some newer stuff I like (Nickelback, Incubus, Theory Of A Dead Man) but I guess I don't give much of a chance to different stuff. I should try to change that, who knows what I might discover. You have inspired me.

Thank you, TBF! If you listen to any more obscure bands, let me know what you think. Some of my favorites are Wilco, Guster, Snow Patrol, Death Cab for Cutie and recently, Teenage Fan Club. Teenage Fan Club definitely have been influenced by the Byrds and the Beatles. If you have time, listen to their song, "Ain't That Enough". I would think I'm back in the sixties and those harmonies are so sweet...that's one reason I love the Eagles so much too!
"Into the Mystic"-excellent cover version of my favorite Van Morrison song-sung by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, who starred in the wonderful movie, "Once". It doesn't get any better than this, except of course to hear Van the Man himself singing it!
