It does make you wonder how some people ended up pronouncing it in the 'Germanic' way (Fry) and others pronounced it 'Fray'.

If I were Swedish my husband's surname would be pronounced 'GusTAFson' with a long 'a', but he says it 'GUStafson' because that's how I assume his father and grandfather said it. People also assume that the first syllable is 'Goos' which it probably is in Sweden, but Mike says 'Gus'.

Simple as my first name is rarely does anyone get it right, except family, who call me by my first and second name together. Which makes it even harder for others who hear that.

I've learned to pretty much answer to almost anything!

So it's that easy to meet Glenn? Change your name to Frey?

Cathy Frey...has a nice ring to it....

One of Glenn's classmates has become an music teacher who teaches music to wounded veterans and started a program to give them guitars and instruction as well called Strumming for Vets. Below is an interview with him. He only mentions Glenn in passing to say he went to school with him, but I thought I would note the article nonetheless. His name is John Rola and he is also a Vietnam veteran.

Remember Thomas Sullivan? He wrote the "Moral Malnutrition" line from "I've Got Mine" and also wrote up several interesting commentaries on the Crosslake show from last year, which I was lucky enough to attend. He's put out another blog that revisits this experience, but this time his focus is on Deacon.

It's quite long, so I won't repost it. You can check it out here: http://www.storytellersunplugged.com...nn-deacon-frey

Well...it's true....I nearly gave my sister a heart attack today from my scream of "HEY THAT'S GLENN!" lol We were watching some show and they were showing a behind the scenes footage of Michael Jackson discussing what to wear for his "Thriller" video or something like that and you could hear "I Found Somebody" playing in the background! Sad but true....I freaked out. haha

Troub, I can just imagine your excitement! I wonder what your sister thought!

Soda, thanks for posting that link. I'm sure that as a teenager, albeit very talented, Deacon would be wondering at that accolade heaped on him! It's an awesome insight into the family dynamics and for that I thank you Thomas!

Judging by the Thomas Sullivan articles & various other tidbits that I have read here & there, it sounds like Glenn & Cindy are really raising their children right!
