Re: Casino Rama Revisited
PinkCoatGirl, it would be great if you would post directions from Buffalo to Rama. I agree about Mapquest not always being accurate. Dreamer and I had no problem getting from San Francisco to Sac, but couldn't find our hotel following their directions.

Re: Casino Rama Revisited
Okay...I come bearing a little news, anyways!
US currency is *not* accepted at the casino (except possibly a couple restaurants, but he said even then, you're probably better to change it), but can be changed over at the cash cage thing (where you'd exchange chips for cash or vice versa, I guess). So I guess you're safe to just use US currency everywhere else and change a little over at the casino...I imagine they probably charge a fee although the guy didn't tell me that, and dreamer, you're exactly right--most other places don't have a problem with it.
As for directions, I'm going to have to get a hold of an actual map, hehe, because the main highway you'd use to get east to Toronto before going north to Rama looks to be closed that weekend, at least partially...so I'm going to have to find out where it's closing and how to get around it, and then I'll let y'all know for sure.
Less than 3 months! And I finally was able to get my ticket for the Saturday show, although it doesn't bear repeating...I'm in, like, 50th row. *sighs* Ah well...at least I'm dead center, and I'll be there!

My friend and I: "Nice coat Glenn!"
Joe Walsh, at next pause between songs: "Hey, nice coat, Glenn."
Glenn: "Thanks, thanks...yah, I picked this up at the..Liberace garage sale, glad you like it..."

Re: Casino Rama Revisited
Julie-
I'm coming in a little late on this thread (too much work lately--ugh!) but I am sorry about what your mom said too. It is so annoying when your family doesn't "get it." My younger sister lives in Atlanta, and last summer when Don & Stevie came there, I called her and asked if she would go with me as a favor. She agreed until I told her I wanted to buy the best tickets and then she blew a gasket, going on & on about how stupid it was to spend so much money on a concert, why did I care about this man so much....you know the drill. It really made me mad so I told her to forget it. Thankfully Lynda/sillykat emailed me and agreed to go with me, and we had a great time.
As someone else expressed so eloquently, I too will be living in "envyland" (insert picture here--Don singing "It's Not Easy Bein' Green") as many of you go to the UK and Casino Rama and other places to see the guys this summer---but thank goodness for this site and Eagleland, so we can live vicariously through you! Have a blast--I KNOW you will!

That's right Dana. Thanks for saying that. I am over the 'envy' now, really! Living vicariously can be fun.

You are right, dreamer--the more we see them, the more the WANT to see them!
