Aw, I'm sorry, Julie. Some people don't get it, do they?

I understand how you feel. Who knows, maybe one day...

I made the mistake of saying to my mother yesterday that I envied people going to all these shows, and she said 'grow up'.
Oh Julie...I'm so sorry. My family can be the exact same way--my mom still doesn't know I actually bought my ticket with my own money, as far as she's concerned, other people are buying me tickets...dang, I have some rich friends in her mind! If I told her that the shows mean more to me than having new clothes or other extras...she'd flip right out.

And I also know the whole living too far away thing...Glenn is very very very unusual, coming up here for no apparent reason. In general, if I know someone's touring that I really want to see, I start laying down plans right away to go to a U.S. show, because 9 times out of 10, they won't come here. And when they do? Double the price (hi, $250 for 10th row Eagles!). I understand... Hopefully one day he'll make his way down there..!

My friend and I: "Nice coat Glenn!"

Joe Walsh, at next pause between songs: "Hey, nice coat, Glenn."

Glenn: "Thanks, thanks...yah, I picked this up at the..Liberace garage sale, glad you like it..."

Oh right...mentioned my ticket and wandered off without specifying!

Section F3, row 4!!! That's for Friday...will probably be buying my Saturday ticket this week. My poor abused checking account could only handle one for right now.

Julie, my family and friends don't get it either and luckily my husband just accepts it.

Julie, I do know how you feel. I was pretty sure I'd missed my chances of ever seeing Glenn solo or seeing the group live. I've spent the last 1 1/2 years being very envious of everyone's concert experiences. I'm still pinching myself that this is for real.

Geography doesn't have to be the thing that gets in a person's way. The Eagles have been practically in my backyard more than once. Sometimes it's just life stepping in. I'm grateful for this "second" chance -believe me!

I'm sure we all wish you could be there with us this summer. But never say never! Ya just gotta believe!

I am envious, as it's Glenn solo, but it's going to be so exciting for you all!

I agree Julie - never say never! Keep your fingers-crossed. Even if Glenn doesn't book any solo dates Down Unda, I have a strong feeling that the Eagles may be back to see you one more time. And you just never know when a trip to the states may be in the stars for you!

Now - as far as my family, I have a somewhat opposite problem. If I told them I was going to any Eagles-related show, my two sisters and three nieces would all expect to share the 'excellent adventure' with me. However, tickets are too expensive to be buying for all the nieces, and we can't take one without taking the others - nevermind the travel expenses. I am really hoping that the guys will come close to my home one last time so I can take them. But, in the meantime, these shows have to be my little secret.

I posted some info on Eagleland with regard to info about car rentals and driving in Canada. Here's the link in case you miss it on Eagleland.

Awesome idea dreamer! I of course don't drive and live here, so doesn't apply to me, but hey...

A couple more suggestions: Either change your money on the US side of the border, or use US currency here. DO NOT change it at a bank here, and don't bother with travellers' checks because nobody takes 'em. I need to call the casino regarding something else anyhow, so I'll double check with them if they take US currency up there or not. If you change the money here at a bank, you'll incur at least a $3-5 service charge in addition to the exchange rate (which is currently $1CDN = 87cents USD, which it's been for about a year now). If you change it at the airport or any other foreign exchange place, you get horrendously ripped off exchange-rate wise and will also incur a service charge of a certain percentage (usually 3%) on what you change over.

I'll warn you about our money, LOL...$1 coin is called a loonie, $2 coin is called a twonie (we're tiny, we're tooney, we're all a little looney...er...um, I digress), a $5 is blue, a $10 is purple. Doesn't get to normal money-lookin' stuff 'til the green $20. Don't get anything over a $20 because nobody takes 'em.

Also prepare for the fact that our highways are *not* well signed. If anyone's interested, I can post directions from Buffalo to Rama--rather than Mapquest, which is all fine and good except they've gotten me lost before, especially at the border (they don't always say the right/closest/easiest bridge to use and don't always put you right on the highway). Once you get on the highway to Rama, you're fine and Rama is clearly signed, you can't miss the turn-off...but everything else? You'll see a sign for the exit coming up in 100 kilometers and then another sign for the exit when it appears. Seriously.

I'm sure everyone knows this but it surprised one friend of mine so I'll pass it on...you will need 2 pieces of ID to cross the border, driver's license alone is *not* enough. License and birth certificate should do it, but if you have a passport, bring it--the customs people are dumb and given to creating passport-required laws at random.

Rama is *not* in Toronto, it's a good 90 minutes to 2 hours north of Toronto. They just like to bill themselves as being in Toronto. Add that in to your travel time, and watch out--*especially* for the Friday show, traffic on the highway that leads to Rama will be very, very heavy with people going to their cottages. Allow a lot of time.

Let me know of any questions...I'd be happy to update people on the gas prices at that time as well, as someone suggested over there on Eagleland. If anybody wants to post this on Eagleland, be my guest, I don't have an account there so yah... Oh yes, and Lisa's right, Buffalo is a much better bet--Toronto is the most expensive airport in the world to fly through, thanks to them randomly tearing down a terminal and building a new one.

    3 months today!!!!!
