Default A taste of Don Felder live

Felder fans - look what I happened across! A commercial for Felder as a corporate act. It includes several live segments of Felder doing Eagles songs.

    You can find it here.

According to the promotional site, his usual set list is:

    • Hotel California
    • Victim of Love
    • Already Gone
    • Pride & Joy
    • Peaceful Easy Feeling
    • Eagles Blues
    • Take It To The Limit
    • Tequila Sunrise
    • Witchy Woman
    • Those Shoes
    • Heavy Metal
    • Superstition
    • Take It Easy
    • Life In The Fast Lane
    • Heartache Tonight
    • One Of Those Nights

Always in our hearts, Never forgotten

    Good GRIEF!

If he can pull this set-list off (and he DOES for the promotional video you can spot at that site ( http://chimehosting.com/ape/spotligh...der/media.html ) then either he is paying out the nose for royalties for those songs or else he still has rights to them as a "former partner!" Or he is setting himself up for another monster lawsuit <LOL>

The "game" might be going into extra innings!

It probably was part of the settlement that he could play all the Eagles songs he wanted. I have a feeling that Felder, with the help of his highly-paid lawyers, has a very clear understanding of what he can and can't do.

He would still get songwriting royalties for the handful of those songs he wrote and as Soda said he was probably given permission to do the others. I find it interesting that he's doing so many songs sung by Frey. I thought he had no time for those songs (especially PEF and TS). I wonder what 'Eagles Blues' is? If Superstition is the Stevie Wonder song it would be interesting to hear.

I'm sure you are right. Even the promotional video would probably be stepping on toes if he was not completely in the clear legally.

And, I'm sure that with all of the publicity that the lawsuit drew, he will get some pretty darn good gigs out of it. I seriously doubt that he's doing it for the money. Likely he's doing it just to be able to perform again with a set list that is bound to get people's attention!

Hmmm... less than three days after we posted this, both the video and setlist have been removed from the promotional site.

    Interesting.

Whew! Either he had a falling out with the booking agency or else he or someone "advised" him to take the video and set list down (Duh!) Can we maybe speculate that he just might have stepped a little bit over the line?

If that's the case, you'd think that he'd know better after all the legal battles he's been through! Yesh!

Seriously! Maybe I overestimated Felder's discretion, and he's just that foolish.

It's also possible that the setlist was pre-settlement.
