I remember Brian describing Joe as 'a guitar hero to all us guitar heroes' at that gig he mentioned. I think that's quite a nice way of putting it!

Man oh man Joe is a busy guy! Guest appearance at The Black Keys concert last night!! Wow 🤩 I think it’s awesome that he is embraced by the “new” scene. The Black Keys rock and we all know Joe does too!! In the article there is video too. 😎

Thanks for that link, KingWalsh. Here’s a Variety article about the same gig, along with some news about a new album with Joe:

Variety can exclusive reveal that an album Auerbach, Walsh and Schwartz recorded together back in 2016 will finally be coming out in 2020, on Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound label.

Auerbach befriended the late cofounder of the James Gang — and his successor, Walsh, re-friended him — before Schwartz died in November of 2018 at age 78. The three of them played a gig together at a Nashville honky-tonk in 2016, then followed it with a jam at the Coachella Festival during an appearance there by Auerbach’s other band, the Arcs. It was around that same time the three of them went into a recording studio, the results of which will finally be heard next year.
How cool would it be to catch Joe playing at a Nashville honky-tonk?

    Everybody says "He's cool"! lol!

I've heard of the Black Keys but honestly couldn't even name one song by them. Guess I'm out of the loop. Go Joe for being an "in" guy!

I like the Black keys. They got the retro vibe , yet without coming off as copycats, and sound unique. I'm happy Joe is doing things like this...

I'm personally not a fan of The Black Keys, but this could be interesting.

As far as newer bands that sound like classic rock, my picks would be Greta Van Fleet (love GTF!!), Blackberry Smoke (albeit southern rock), and Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown (blues-y rock).

    Brothers for life. RIP Glenn

I'm not sure I believe in fate, but I know that crossing paths with Glenn Lewis Frey in 1970 changed my life forever, and it eventually had an impact on the lives of millions of other people all over the planet. It will be very strange going forward in a world without him in it. But, I will be grateful, every day, that he was in my life. Rest in peace, my brother. You did what you set out to do, and then some." -Don Henley

    HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, JOE!!!

In spite of many people doubting this move at the time, it sure turned out to be a brilliant decision for both you and the band!
