Yes, I can see the mouth now, but what's with those eyes?

I think he had sunglasses on.
Doh! Of course!

I was just talking to Kay on the phone about this last night. At first I just looked at Glenn and thought the video was a bit risque but not too bad, even funny. Then I started noticing all those milisecond cutaways and they get pretty nasty and degrading. I can't enjoy the video anymore, sad to say. I realize he was trying to make a point, but still.

That is true Soda - like I said, I can understand why it was labeled for mature audiences. It's not my favorite video by far, but IMO, it is making a point and is probably the best of all of his Strange Weather videos in terms of how effectively it delivers the message. Whether or not you like the message is a whole 'nother story.

You think so? "I've Got Mine" is a lot more heavy-handed, that's for sure. POMPOY has no message at all. Ironically, his Strange Weather videos as a whole are less effective than many of his earlier efforts, IMHO.

You can look at this in several ways. I think 21st Century as a video is possibly more effective than the NFA videos, which have dated horribly (I know we get gooey over TOYL but really, it's incredibly corny). It would have been better if he had not changed his appearance, which I find the most offputting aspect of it, far more than what else occurs in it.
The I've Got Mine video succeeds in making the song boring, which should not have been possible. As for POMPOY, it's a wonderful opportunity wasted.
I think TOYL, while dated in some ways, is still highly effective artistically. The only thing that perhaps is a bit over the top is using the wind during the dancing scene. lol I agree that I Found Somebody isn't all that, though.
I'm not sure how much control he had over POMPOY. The movie company wanted the music video to be an ad for Thelma and Louisa, and probably they were responsible for its

I'll finish what you said Nancy. 'They were responsible for its being a trailer instead of a music video'.
