Joe was a fantastic addition and I always enjoy his onstage antics. His abilities seem underated by many but I personally think he is right up there with the best of the best in the guitar world.

I have just noticed a correction which needs to be made in Today In Eagles History. They played in Sydney today (my time) in 1976. The venue's name is the Hordern Pavilion. I saw Elton John there in 1982. The venue still exists but it isn't used nearly as often as it used to be beceause it's very old. Having said that CSN are playing there in April (no, I am not going).

Just wanted to recognize that today is another special day in Eagles history. Sixteen years ago today, in 1996, the band won two American Music Awards for Favorite Pop/Rock Adult Contemporary Band and for Favorite Pop/Rock Album - Hell Freezes Over.

    Congratulations Eagles!!!

Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 went platinum on this day in 1976 only one week after its release. In addition to being one of the best selling albums of all time it was also the first album to be certified platinum.
