Default New album from The Sweet (Steve Priest Sweet)

I occasionally speak of one of my other favorite groups on this board- Sweet and have trouble figuring out where to put info about them (not that many of you care ) but I do insist on trying to spread the word of The Sweet whenever I can. So I thought I would go ahead and start a thread with some new info which truly excites me and I know a couple of you here remember them from way back also.

The only 2 members still alive are still touring. There are currently 2 versions right now-Andy Scott Sweet, which is in the UK, Andy Scott was the guitarist for Sweet in the 70's, and Steve Priest Sweet, which is here in the US, Steve Priest was the original bassist for Sweet. They have been on the outs with each other for decades now and Andy has always had a version of Sweet touring the UK but Steve put his own band together a little over a year ago and had a small tour during last summer her in the States. They both play the old Sweet songs/hits and both are really great bands.

My friend Pawl, from the UK who has known Andy forever, sent me the latest album from Andy's Sweet last summer (signed by all members of the band-) but Steve just announced that his band is currently recording also and I've heard some samples and they sound fabulous!!! Cannot wait to get it also!

    Here's a few pictures...

First, Steve Priest Sweet. Steve is the red head on the left--he has had health issues in the past and hasn't aged so well. Joe Retta, the lead singer is on the right -he is wonderful and does a great job with the songs--Looks really good also-I say anyways!!!

    Joe Retta---Yummy!!!

This is Andy Scott's version of Sweet. Andy is the one of the left.

And here they are in the late 70's. L-R Brian Connolly, Andy Scott, Steve Priest and Mick Tucker.

I'm happy for you, TBF, but I would not have recognised either Steve or Andy if you hadn't said who they were in those photos (Well, maybe Andy). I see Steve still has the red hair, which I personally have to applaud. Just for you Fox On The Run came on my iPod last night.

Julie-I knew when I was posting this yesterday, there wouldn't be much interest in this thread-but I thought you might post because I know you said before that you remembered them. BTW-Love Fox On The Run--one of their best!

TBF - I have to honestly admit that I never heard much about Sweet until you posted about them on this board. So although I'm not a fan, I appreciate your dedication and loyalty. You go girl! I only have time for one obsession though, so I guess I'll stick with those other guys for the time being.

Trust me Dreamer--Eagles are the biggest obsession--but whenever possible, I also try to spread the word about Sweet!
