It is surprising that Don is doing these solo dates when you'd think he'd want to rest, but the thing is - these casinos make it worth their while. Also, as opposed to a regular tour, casino shows are generally pretty short - about 90 minutes - and require minimal prep and rehearsal time since all of these songs have been done a million times before (unless he breaks out something new like Glenn did in Niagara Falls). So you fly out there, get yourself a nice comped hotel room and meals, spend a day or two rehearsing, play an hour and a half to an undemanding casino crowd (many of whom were comped and don't even really care who's playing), and go home with $150,000 or so. Not bad! And once you've worked up a show for one casino, might as well play it again at another casino and make double the money without that much extra effort.
