Let's hope that Nightingale thing was a careless error!

Maybe the last chapter was written before Farewell 1 came out?

Well, no, because the concert at Glendale was mentioned. I think she just had a deadline to reach. Perhaps I should send her a copy of F1, she might enjoy it!

Just another thing from the book. The author says that it was Glenn who made the famous vacation comment on Hell Freezes Over, and refers to his 'growly voice'. I always thought it was Don, but I'm not so sure now.

Yes, it's Glenn who says, "For the record, we never broke up, we just took a 14 year vacation." on HFO.

I received this in the mail yesterday and have been reading it - I'm about halfway through. I too like that she portrays Glenn in such a favorable light, giving him his props as band leader. This suspect quote made me chuckle, though: "Frey himself said, 'After months of discontent, Bernie went to the loo during a recording session and that was the last we saw of him.'" I can't see Glenn using the term "loo"! lol

I can't see Glenn using the word "loo," either. LOL! Maybe "crapper" would be more up his alley. Oooo - did I just type that out loud?

That "loo" story reminds me of a scene from the movie Rock Star. The manager of this hard rock band is telling lead singer Mark Wahlberg about the time he left his wife. He excused himself at dinner to go to the loo, and he just kept on walking. There - a little off-subject trivia.

I think it was that phrase that first alerted me to the fact that it might be brit based. We do use the word 'loo', but for the life of me I can't imagine Glenn using it!

That was quoted in a British publication and that's why they used 'loo' instead of, presumably, 'john'. I was familiar with the quote.
